Is my PDC a retrofit?
So, I've had my lci 330d approximately a month now and I recall on the pre-lci 335d, the front/rear pdc was of the overhead image of the car with front/rear shaded area which was colour coded depending on how close you were to an object.
Now on my 330d, the PDC shows the same image albeit smaller to the right hand side but the main close up image is of either the front or the back of the car (I think this is how the F range models operate). I think it's pretty cool as the car literally drives forward/backwards on the screen when you change from reverse to non-reverse. I wondered if this was an OEM feature (as the car has had some neat upgrades which weren't factory fitted options) or whether it was a retrofit. I know that the car had many software updates recently including the latest maps amongst other software. |

Thanks, I thought this may be the case.
The electric folding mirrors are programmed to close with the key too so I figured some coding has been altered on the car. I don't mind it actually as I prefer this form of pdc, as I don't lose the functionality of the previous version. |

Maybe the previous owner liked the PDC screen like that or maybe they did retrofit front sensors (rear are standard)!? Does the tv work? It does look like a great spec car, doesn't matter is some options have been retrofitted! |

I'm not sure I would ever use it which is why I haven't bothered up until now. TV function was selected as an option as I can see on the original invoice for the car |

I notice that it has seat heating buttons is both places? That'd make me think that everything has been retrofitted also. |

Date of 1st reg was 20/09/2008.
It came with CIC from factory as the owner kept all paperwork (electronically) which includes the panflet about the new CIC (was new back then). The only reason the heated seats button has moved is the guy preferred the auto climate control with adjusting levels. The lci pre 2010 climate control only had 1 level of auto whereas this one now has 4 stages. |
