Turtle Wax Products
Weather was great so I used the opportunity to clean up the car a little but since it was very dirty from the last track day event. I picked up some Turtle Wax products and I'm happy with the result. What you guys think? Take a look:
I used this on the leather Seats color hide a lot of dirt but all clean now After I shampooed the car I used this for the paint It was easy to apply Now the paint is smoother to the touch with more sparkle |

I did an advanced search to see if there was a main thread for Turtle Wax, but I couldn't find one that reached the full spectrum of their lineup. I'm BUMPING this thread as a home for all Turtle Wax products.

Ok, so I've generally switched back and forth between Mother's California Gold detailing spray and Meguiars Quik Detailer spray over the years. I liked the value of MQD, because it's often sold for around the same price as Mother's, and you get almost twice as much. However, I always thought Mother's was a better product (for a light detailing spray).
With the perspective of spray waxes, I've also used both, but I always turn back to a long-standing, long-lasting favorite, Turtle Wax - Wax & Dry spray. It's been, by far, the best spray wax I've ever used. It goes on thick, wipes clean, and it brings out a deep luster. For a side by side comparison, I was cleaning my hood the other day with Meg's. I used separate clean MF towels to wipe and then buff. However, I was noticing that it just didn't buff clear. So I did a test with the TW and not only did it provide ample lubrication to wipe away light dirt and dust, it buffed out crystal clear. On the LEFT, you'll see the Meg's after I had tried buffing it clear 24 hours earlier. On the RIGHT, I used TW with stunning results. Frankly, all sprays should wipe this clean. Here's a more light-corrected perspective... As you can see, the TW added deep luster to the hood, which I had cut and corrected just a couple weeks ago. I guess I just never noticed the fine haze when I used it on my silver Audi prior. Now it's a lot more noticeable! |

I use the TW Spray & Wax on my wife's XC90, and it stays on the paint for months. Granted, I've applied multiple layers, but it's really an amazing product.

i WANTED TO RESPOND TO MY PREVIOUS POST ABOUT MEG'S QUIK DETAILING SPRAY AND HOW IT WAS HAZING UP ON MY HOOD.
Recently, I was cleaning my garage, so I moved the car to the cul de sac. It was sunny out, so by the end of the day my car was pretty hot. After I pulled the car back in I noticed more haze. This time, AFTER I had applied the TW carnauba spray. I spoke with Kevin Brown about it and he brought up a great point. He said that carnauba attracts moisture, which makes sense, PLUS it rained almost ten minutes after I brought my car in, so it was getting pretty humid out. I'm wondering if the TW spray was just collecting moisture from the air (that's the best way I can put it). Lemme throw a curveball. I was using the TW carnauba spray on top of Meg's Ultimate full synthetic wax. The base coat wax may have caused the carnauba wax to "sweat" and therefore haze. The same thing may have happened with the Quik spray. I wasn't knocking the product overall, I just thought at the time that it didn't work well on my paint. I do still use it on my XC90. I'll keep experimenting.

Hard to beat the Turtle Wax ZIP Wax Car wash. $5-$7 a gallon at Wally World. No sense in dropping a ton when I’m just gonna be sad the moment there’s a thin layer of dust on my car in 2-3 days anyway. The Clean and Shine exterior detailer is a nice grab for the money also.

Ok! If you read my last couple of posts, I had some issues with hazing using a heavy carnauba based product. I had this hazing with Meguiar's full synthetic, as well, so I switched to the TW hybrid ceramic wet wax, but I haven't really been using it correctly. I've been spraying it dry and then wiping off, so I was getting some streaking. The streaking is workable with a light spritz of distilled water (hence, "wet wax") and wiped with a microfiber towel. I bet I could dilute the solution with some distilled water, as well.
Regardless, the results of the ceramic spray are fantastic; lots of gloss, lots of protection. I really like this coating. Once I'm done with this bottle I will probably get the standard spray or maybe the jet black spray. Due to the hazing issue, I needed to maintain the light [consumer] ceramic coating with a light cleaner to minimize hazing. For regular maintenance, I have been experimenting with Meguiar's hybrid ceramic detailer. Great product, but this was also creating a stubborn haze (just on the hood), due to heat buildup. Grrrrr. Anyway, back to Turtle Wax, I decided to try a super simple and neutral cleaner to keep the hood from hazing. I think I may have found it in the TW Clean & Shine Total Exterior Detailer spray. GREAT PRODUCT!! I've used it for a couple weeks now and no hazing. The solution is very light, so it does the trick without adding much product on top of the existing ceramic coating. The result is a perfect amount of lubrication to pick up light dirt and dusting from the smooth paint. I have more experimenting to do with the TW ceramic detailer, but for now, this is working GREAT!! It just doesn't smell as nice as the ceramic line!!
