N55 PWG Rattle??

2011 335xi e90 n55 PWG 150,000km

catless dp, charge pipe, intake, MHD stage 1

So I never noticed anything till about 2 days ago.
It's been super nice out so I've been driving with both front windows down. I noticed a slight metallic rattle when decelerating. The sound is only noticeable when something is close to the right side (parked car or building). No rattle when revving on idle, no rattle on accel.

My only concern is if this is the dreaded waste gate rattle.

I know n55s don't rlly suffer from WGR but I'm still concerned.

I'm aware that SOME WGR is normal on n55s, so is what I'm hearing the "normal" rattle?

It occurs from 2-3k rpm (when the engine sound isn't overpoweringly loud)

Sound isn't loud, you have to rlly listen for it. My concern is, if this is in-fact WGR will it get worse over time?

I have had a rattle from day 1. Car was at 40k miles when I got it and I have 130k miles now.

Did it get worse over time like the n54s?

Mine rattles a bit on deceleration when the engine is cold - usually don't hear anything once it's warmed up.

I honestly haven't paid attention to it much over the years so I can't say for sure. Maybe a tiny bit. Also not even sure if it is wgr. My car is peaking at 20 psi and tapers to 16 psi at redline so my turbo is working pretty well. If your logs look good I wouldn't worry about anything.

Eh mine's been like that pretty much since I've had it. Hasn't ever affected anything in 7 years. Hasn't gotten better, hasn't gotten worse.

Same here, I think it's just how it is.

You can adjust this a few different ways.

Depends on what you’re doing in terms of tuning, if anything.

MHD’s stage 1 can be easily replicated by anyone with the stock BIN and the public XDF. Not much happening other than not making it hog rich, adding some timing, and doing the CEL delete for front o2 (which can be added in TunerPro)
