I have looked on eBay and this site for a black, seat top half. I have found a few. However, I have lumbar support & heated seats. Can one just by any seat top half & retofit the lumbar support & heated pad to the new seat from the old one?
I have thought about m3 seats & sport seats, but 99% of the items I have found are for a coupe. My car is a pre-LC I sedan. I want a plug & play deal. I'm not interested in trying my luck with playing with harnesses & altering pins etc. I know there's DIY's on forum on how to do that, but I don't find any of them very clear and concise. Hence, my hesitation. Any thoughts...??? |

There is a patch available that you glue on top of the rip. I wouldn't recommend it as it looks like a patch lol.
As tcphoto suggested upholstery shop will get this to 100% in no time. Just a matter of stitching it back up. You can also do this, but your issue is right at the stitching so I'm not sure if this applies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5G8gB-Cql2I Last edited by Wolf 335; 04-02-2021 at 09:34 PM.. |

The heating pad is part of the cover, so that can not be swapped over. The air bags and solenoids and all the lines for the lumbar support can be swapped over if needed.

all of my seats are taking a shit here. that dakota whatever sucks. rear seats both split at the seems at the top, and driver seat complete split all to hell.
now sourcing upgrades since my seats are super basic nothings. would like heated, full ele adj seats maybe M or Msport, would have to code them in but whatever |

Nothing to code in I don't think. If you are looking to add options like heated seats, lumbar support, or power seats etc., you may need to get a new harness all together and wire it into where ever it goes into. I wouldn't think the connections in the harness would be present if you didn't have heated seats for example.... maybe I'm wrong? It's a matter of pre-LCI vs LCI. You need to know which car you have & stay in the same years & options. If you cross over into lci & you have a pre-lci for example, then you have to do some re-wiring in the harness. Something I'd rather avoid personally. |
