Windshield washer not working?
'07 328i, no cold weather package. Wipers work but when pulling the lever towards me to spray washer fluid I get nothing. No sound of the pump, no wiper movement. I put washer fluid in a couple weeks ago and haven't used it since.
Any guesses? Hoping the wiper switch isn't bad... |

Your pump is clogged. Google it.
Super common, happens to mine every year. I just use compressed air to blow the line out. Don’t keep holding the lever, you will burn the pump up.’ There is only a small chance the pump is actually bad, it can happen, but I bet it’s just clogged with algae, etc. I’ve only ever used bmw wiper fluid and it still clogs even though people say that’s the cause. My real reason is probably because I don’t use them enough and it just sits. Good luck.

Pump has electrically failed. When this happens, all functions of the washer position become disabled.
Here's my post from another thread about this issue: Despite this thread being many years old at this point, I feel the need to add this because it could have been helpful when I had this issue. If pulling the stalk to the "wash" position results in absolutely nothing happening (no pump noise, no wiper movement, no headlight washers, no relay clicking) it IS possible for the washer pump itself to be at fault. When my 06' had this issue, I was initially concerned the stalk itself had failed (not cheap!), but after months of it not working, I replaced the pump with a Febi unit from FCP (was stupid cheap, I believe in the realm of $10) and immediately, the wash function, with wipers, headlight washers, and sprayers, began to work again. I hope this helps anyone else who comes across this issue. Cheers |

My 08 pump failed - never used it as always was a fair-weather car, failed stupid inspection as it didn't work. Replaced the pump, wasn't too hard, have an E93 so you pull the front wheel and fender liner and then it slides out. $10 and all set and working again!

Its gotta be the pump. Took the pump out and its clean. My hot air goes right through (blew on it). So I took the connector off the pump and jumped the wires with my multimeter, checked for voltage and continuity, and the wipers then moved when I pulled the stalk in.
