N55 Spark Plug Counterfeit

When i got car i changed plugs to OE .. BMW 12120037582.. At 5k miles later i put tune on MHD stage 1 acn.. At 10k with said plugs started getting idle miss fires that dme detected.. Taking out plugs reviewed a gap of double for each cylinder..
Picture is of four i saved that center post is gone verse one that still has center post.. Again within 10k miles.. I changed to one step cooler plugs since...

Upon review of my pictures might be i got counterfeit plugs.. All plugs i had are supposed to be 12120037582.. The one that is different was bought from different vendor and only did >5k miles.. But looking at both plugs in picture noticed the center insulator different sizes.. And the tint of the lettering...

Where did you buy the plugs from?

Counterfeit plugs is a very common issue. This is why I only get them from the dealer.

Weird i was told i believe on this forum that theres no overhead for counterfeit plugs .. Anyways got both of the two different ones on ebay.

I have added more detail.. Counterfeit top to plug is higher that factory..

Probably Amazon! A lot of counterfeit stuff with the BOSCH name is making way thru the Amazon pipes to USA consumers.

Dealership is probably the ONLY place to get genuine stuff.

FCP and ECS are also good as well.

Yeah, avoid eBay for any new car parts. Way better to go through a vendor. Used parts for non mission critical items are great though. I've gotten a few useful plastic pieces from eBay.
