It seems like 90% of people in the hour-and-a-half long Monday morning meeting have little to say. Need more COFFEE.

Do you write while you are under the influence? Maybe you have some funny stuff to post. Some of the Beatles most listened to lyrics were written while high. Refer to the White Album.

In the '70s I had many black light posters. In a quick look on the web, I see that some of them are still available to buy. I wouldn't have thought they would still be available, but I guess us baby boomers still want the authentic stuff from the day when it was all new. These are a few that I had back then. I would like to find some of the rest, as they were the best ones.

I must have written this one of those nights... I am sure it was to be the brief outline for a story. One that I never wrote. There were a lot of those back then.

Cats are alien beings that came to earth to escape the massive overpopulation that infested their native planet. they came to live as primitives living in the wild with no definite society and they stopped building and using their knowledge in the hopes that the population will stay low. Since Earth is a little warmer than their planet they didn't need clothes anymore. Through evolution their fingers became shorter and their hair thickened as a result of becoming accustomed to the climate. They found an easier more luxurious way of living with the humans that dominated the planet as their pets. But who is really the master? The Cats or the people?*ln1

You came up with that while staring at a blacklight poster? I think that was a Robert Heinlein plot...

I've been looking for some sunglasses that make certain fluorescent colors really 'pop', just amazing. Had a pair 15 years ago, can't find another. I think they had a greenish lens. Anyone?

I never read any Heinlein. A lot of ideas for stories are trite and commonplace. This is one of them. It was probably because of the lack of originality and no real substance that I never pursued it. I brought it up probably because of a cat theme covered in this thread: What regrets do you have? So, for the moment I have cats on my mind. I've had a hard time getting to sleep the last couple nights.

I have heard a little about Heinlein's work. Didn't he write John Carter of Mars or something like that?

John Carter of Mars, or some other simple name.

Prolific writer: Starship Troopers, Stranger in a Strange Land, Red Planet, Methuselah's Children, to name a few of the hundred plus novels and short stories. Lots of philosophy mixed in with wild plots and outlandish characters.

Start with Stranger in a Strange Land.

Many recurring characters in his longer novels.

Easy Script word processor software for the Commodore 64. You had to type in your control characters for print formatting and linking to your next document. In 1986 I typed up a bunch of my writings. In '95 I imported my old files from the C64 floppies into Windows and haven't gotten around to converting them to Word docuements. I haven't looked at any of these in many years. It's kind of nostalgic for me. I put a couple good ones (properly formatted) into this thread that was started by Nikki: Artists.
