restart the car and it should be fine. happens to me all the time but BMW can never "re-create the issue" so it'll never get fixed...

THe adaptive headlight module is bad or going bad.....it comes on when that happens. Or the leveling bars are broken from hitting a pothole (happened to me) no warning lights for me though..

my former dealership, park ave bmw, would not replace my headlights because i had suspension (KW V1) on the car.

i now have euro non-adaptive headlight xenons on the car. still have the warning light. oh well.

One headlight up and one headlight left... I dont see how they need a code

Dealership is actually putting two whole new headlight assemblies in my car today cause of bad motors.

even if your out of warranty you can sometimes get things like this replaced if your local dealership isnt crooked.
I took it to Hassel for service. They refused to fix my adaptive headlight problem, and also refused to fix my engine ticking issue.

hassel took care of my engine ticking (lifter's) right away while i was still under warranty.
and just helped with my steering lock ELV issue as well, though i wasn't under warranty and had to pay out close to $5k for it to be fixe (geico took care of the bill under flood/comprehensive!)

i also have this adaptive headlight problem, where my left/driverside doesnt adjust anymore. i just deal with it because i'm out of warranty.

Bump, happened to me randomly last night while going around a roundabout. Adaptive headlight warning sign came on, noticed left side was pointing down further then right side xenon cut off line. Parked the car at the gym, gave it 30 seconds and restarted the car. Went away . Don't know what caused it or if it just got stuck for a bit and threw off the warning sign. Scanne for codes and nothing came up.
