Cleaning my carpet floormats
I made this mistake of leaving my carpet mats in for the winter. They are now caked in salt and dirt. I was just going to take them to the quarter car wash, spray them with the pressure washer and let 'em dry. I guess this is the easiest way, but I am wondering if they will get damaged? It would be nice to have those black soft fluffy mats again (not rock hard terds).

Buy new mats - the mats in these cars get destroyed pretty easily especially after they've been washed. I try to vacuum regularly and will avoid washing them at all.

got it.
Just remember, not your fault. These mats are very low quality.

I have black interior and I have the same thing. I spray them down with 303 cleaner and spot remover, let it sit, brush the white BMW lettering and hose the mats off with a regular hose. You'll see brown water running off the mats. I then let them sit angled on a folding chair or something for a day or two to dry. Then I vacuum them so they get a little soft again, voila! Good as new
That's my technique since my 02' 330 coupe. Except that I used to use resolve on the carpets back in the day. Now I use as many 303 products as possible. I really like their products.

Might not be a bad idea to pick up an extra set of mats and have them in the car for the spring, summer and fall. Then use the old ones for the winter. I've been wanting to do this for 7 years since I first had my E46 coupe but never followed through

Not much help in cleaning the carpeted ones but buy the rubber mats from Tishcer for the winter, I scrub mine with each wash simply because I'm very OCD and can't stand the stains on the rubber. they dry while I wash the car.
