I dun know abt that as i have yet listen to how a hifi pro-logic sound. But the aftermarket speakers like dynaudio and aftermarket sub/amp will definitely sound better than the pro-logic7

sorry to be a total noob, but how many speakers are there in a stock system for the E90? and do you actually have to open up the doors to replace them??

I think 6 speakers (but I could be wrong)

Yes .... you have to remove the door trim to get to them.

Thumbs down 4012 i Infinity Speakers to relace Stk E90/2006

I purchased a pair of these to replace the stock speakers in the front door. May do the back deck later (I think you have to remove the seat though-tougher job. Did you have to make any mods to the stock amp or did you just plug and play the new speakers?

Thanks,

puddle light? or door handle light

Hi mates,

323i models in Canada doesnt come with an amp either. just recently, i took the door panel to see if there is a cable to be connected for puddle light. But couldnt find any and noticed that the speaker and in/out and out can be used to connect to tweeter? . Does your car come with tweeter right by the side mirrors? Also, do you have puddle lights? if so, could you take a photo of wiring if you can see it (without having to take the vapor barrier off )?

thx

The best way to add a tweeter is by using a cross over which will have one pair in and two pairs out. Alternatively, you can just use a capacitor in line with the tweeter, but this is messy.

There seems to be a fundamental flaw with the Infinity speakers ie they have four mounting lugs, whereas the originals have three - surely this is going to be a significant problem?

You need to either buy or make an adapter, which is a ring with holes for both 3 and 4 screws.
See: http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/w...1/IMG_1330.jpg this is what I did.

quick question regarding the apdaptor you used for the new 4" infinity speakers. Most adaptors I see are 13cm (5.25"). Will this adaptor fit for the 4" infinity speakers?

Also, do I need a special adaptors for the wires (i.e. is the wire for the infinity different to the OEM seaker)?

Many thanks,

p.s.s I've already ordered a set of these infinity's for my rear shelf. Will then upgrade the front door one next.

Thanks in advance.

Managed to stick the inifity's in the rear parcel shelf. The infinity's have 4 screws vs. the 3 in the BMW OEM speakers. I just snapped one of the the infinity holders off to make it fit. NOt ideal but secure enough.

Sounds is better, not massively, but definitely clearer sound quality (treble). worth changing.

depth looks to be the same as the 4012i. And also 10cm width - so i see no reason why they shouldn't.
