I have an 06 E90, I'm pretty sure this car was bought on base in Germany because I had to register it with BMW NA for warranty and the previous owner was military.
I'm using a Bimmergeek dcan and the files in the OP.
Tried using BMW tools and also manually writing the NCS trace file and saving as man to edit.
Using kombi module, I get the chime and my time resets. In the trace file I can see the digital v korrectur value changing, but the digital v, the v korrectur, and my batterie klasse don't change. My batterie klasse makes sense, I'm using the wrong module (I think), but I'm not sure why the other values don't change.

Once you write the file you should be able to read it back and
see the changes. Also when you increment though the displays
available with the BC stalk it one still blank?
Is this and idrive car or pro radio.
I am using the bimmergeeks downloads and they seem to be working
fine.

It is an idrive car. Yeah, the new trace log and the displays do not change except the normal: time, door locks. Maybe I'll try NCS dummy and see if I can get it to work.

You may not be using the right profile to write the car.

My FSW/PSW was missing the "Manipulate with FSW_PSW.MAN", that could explain a lot. Thank you for the video, I'll give it another go tonight.

Success! At least for the speedo. i think the battery is good now too, but do you know which module I need for the battery?

Run the functional jobs in Inpa and see what it says.

A lot of times grammatical errors can cause problems .

I'm just in the process of installing this, working so far. And thanks in advance.

Newb question but can I use this software to interrogate the alarm system and try and identify a dodgy internal alarm sensor....there's 4 of them in an E93.

You don't need to. Install using Win 7 compatibility mode and it will run fine on Win 10. Step 1 of the install instructions.

I'm on Step 17 of the install and I've hit a problem.

When I open up the BMW Coding Tool, I cannot get past setting up Button #1 because when I select the Download folder where the daten info was downloaded, I get an error message that states "not a valid SP-daten folder".

I'm absolutely new to this, so apologies if this is a very simple problem.

Initially, I downloaded just the e89.rar daten file thinking that I just needed the particular file for my car. I got the "not a valid SP-daten folder" message. So, I proceeded to download the complete daten folder and the outcome was still the same.

Could someone help me finalize the install of this??

Did you unpack E89.rar to a new location with a Zip program.
Most all this stuff requires that.
.rar files are compressed and cannot be used till uncompressed.
(or unzipped as we call it)

You need one of the zip programs that does .rar files.

First, thank you to the OP and all who have contributed to this thread. It helped me gain the confidence to do coding myself on my car with my old laptop. Having said that, I just got Bimmergeeks ProTool and it looks to make at lot of this now obsolete. I may never need to open my old coding laptop again. I would encourage you to check it out. And No, they did not pay me to say this. I just remember when I came on these forums a few years back wondering if I should get a Cobb Tuner and someone simply said "Why not try MHD, it's the future". Paying it forward.

Virus error

Whenever i try to download the "BMW Standard Tools" file, i get a virus warning, saying "This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.", preventing me from downloading the program. Is anyone else having this problem?

Are you downloading from the link on the Bimmergeeks site? If you are its more than likely fine.

I'm reaching out to the forum in the hopes someone here can help me out. I have a couple cars in my garage and have recently tried to upgrade the Z4 3.0i to 3.0si. Unfortunately I have failed miserably and now the little guy wont start. I am using the Bimmerlabs coding and not really sure what happened other than a "fatal error" is now showing. I have reached out to Bimmerlabs but have not received any response to date.

P.S. I'm pretty much computer illiterate but do have access to my IT guy that speaks the language.

What did you do to it and what is the difference between
a si and a non si.
What kind of motor do you have ..
Did you mess with the DME
Exactly what did you try to do?
d/k can cables are not recommended for a total re flash of the car.

Do you think maybe you depleted the battery .
describe exactly what you where trying to do.
no si non si in the 3 series that I am aware of at least in the US.
