Question Does adding a spacer ontop front strut reduce ride quality or compress strut more

I installed the BMW OEM "rough road package" spacer.

It's a metal plate which is a spacer that is installed on top of the strut tower.
It made the car at front taller +20mm.

But the car suspension feels bumpier now.
Is this just a feeling or is it because of the spacer?

I was told before installing there should not be any difference to ride quality.
The strut/spring itself was not changed, we literally just added the plate on top.

Since the weight of the car has not changed I don't see why the strut/spring would compress more with this plate to cause the bumpiness.

Anyone have an expert opinion?

Does noting other the raising the ride height. Did you loosen up the control arms and torqued them at new ride height?
