I wonder if this is going to turn into a thread like "should I get a 328i or a 335i", or "is the n55 better then the n54", or the best one "my car is not working well, can some one help?".

You're going to have an indent on the hood where it supposed to be. It'll look like someone stole it.

So I ended up keeping the roundel, actually getting a new one. I had the front end done and windshield replaced via insurance claim.. Work order was around $3800. My favorite is the bumper plate holes delete though. Looks cleaner now

I did this back in the day with an e36, it was common during the late 90's early 2000's with the custom euro scene...

It looked clean on my old '96 Techno Violet M3. I'll see if I can grab an old photo... that was back in the film days lol.

Otherwise, it would take some serious metal pounding to remove the indentation. It might or might not look better without the roundel, but I doubt it would be worth the effort.

How did you get the roundel to disappear on the pics of your car?
Do you have two cars? one with and one without a roundel?

Exactly. 16th inch of bondo for anything is the max I'd ever do. And with it being right at the hood latch area it'd definitely crack after shutting it. You'd have to bang it out and probably fill it in using a welder or something. Wouldn't be worth it imo

I hate debadging but looking at those pics I think debadged cars look better. Having said that I would not debadge, anything not standard puts off potential buyers should you want to sell it later. Like you said, most won't even notice.

The only debadging I'm a fan of it removing the xdrive emblems and replacing to the 328xi / 335xi as xi looks and sounds way classier than xdrive. Xdrive sounds like a gimmick you'd see on some chitbox shevy.

On that note, I think the only awd logo (xdrive, 4 matic, 4 motion) that sounds good is quattro...

Why spend money buying a BMW only to remove the BMW logo?!

You have a lot of idle time kid! Find something else more constructive to do.

Please do not delete. The vehicle will lose more than half its resale value if you do that. Also, it gets reported to Carfax so you can't just put it back on.

I think the OP already decided not to delete.

I also feel that if you are doing custom mods like a roundel delete, custom body work or even performance mods, resale value is the last thing on the mind. Any kind of modification already eliminates about half of all potential buyers.

IMO there are three types of BMW drivers - pure BMW enthusiasts who prefer the OEM look, with small tasteful modifications, and are ingrained in the rich history of BMW. Then you have the BMW enthusiasts who prefer to mod a little more to reflect our own personal tastes. And lastly there are the posers who drive BMW's strictly for the status of driving a BMW.

The good portion of this forum is made up of the first two types but with the second group, the modding enthusiasts, we cater to an even smaller community. With all that we know about BMW's and cars in general I think the majority of the modding enthusiasts have accepted the fact that resale value is out of the window, unless we sell within our community.

That being said, if your looking at exterior mods that dramatically change the look of your car, resale value should be of little concern. Just my two pennies.
