Sure. This is my preferred method, if done correctly the wires are almost invisible and I prefer to rely on a steel wire than some epoxy, especially with the vibrations the rings will see.

Sorry, just saw this. The rings are Orion V2 which were modded to a U-shape and frosted.

For optimal results find the best headlight builder for your project and ship the lights to them, unless you just happen to be local to a quality craftsman then it will be best to have the light remotely built.

Wrestled with these bad boys last night and finally popped them off for the first time! Not as difficult as you would expect it to be based on the horror stories of how hard e90 LCI headlights are to get a part. It's just like anything else, if you take your time, move slow and be patient, it isn't bad at all.

I recommend wearing gloves and using a Dremel first to cut the first lip off, then pry them open little by little with a flathead screwdriver while cutting through the excess Permaseal with a razor blade. Once you see how the headlights are held together, it's pretty self-explanatory how to proceed.

I have to say I was unsure for a while if I was going to take this DIY on. Needless to say, I wish I had tackled it sooner! I'll keep you posted!

Anyone the owner of these headlights?

Just want to see what they look like on the car. Made by OSS several years ago.

I can see it's a PreLCI light with an LCI Halogen Eyebrow installed inside. Looks great.

I'm going to replicate it but just wondering about installing an LED eyebrow over the angel eyes?

This seems common on the E92 / E93 but I've not seen one E90 with an LED eyelid...

So I’ve done a few e82 and f10 headlights with baking and heat gun.

For some reasons these e90 lci headlights keep cracking at the channels. Any tips? Not sure if it’s because these ones are almost 12 years old compared to the ones I’ve done. Never tried cutting but leaning towards it now.

Permasealed headlights all have their own personality, you can't make general "_____ headlights are easy, ____ headlights are hard" It's dynamic. In addition to there being different headlight manufacturers; there are different facilities for the same manufacturer, sealant revisions, and different batches of sealant. In general from what I have seen permaseal will become easier to remove the older it is since it usually degrades a bit overtime from heat cycles, maybe UV, etc. but so can the housings.

If you can't get the lens off with prying then it's best to cut it off close to the channel, remove the lens, and then you can cut out the sealant from the channel now that you have access from both sides, fully clear the channels, and finally buy some new OEM lenses from BMWJakes.

If you plan on cutting and reinstalling the lens then pony up and buy a high power ultrasonic cutter ($800+). If you plan on cutting and reinstalling with a dremel or multi-tool, don't, just don't. Do it right or don't do it.

Nice looking car. I was wondering what mine would look like with black grill and black wheels. Might need to do that.

I like IPCW Halo Headlights among the custom ones but I don't think it is much effective for daily use.
