Doesn't the dealer give you a copy when you bring the car in for service? I'm on my third BMW and the dealer always provides copies of the services performed when I pick-up my car.

I need services performed before I purchased the car..They won't give me a full service history and I've been to two different dealers. I don't understand why. It's my freakin car

They won't give me a copy of the service history and I have owned the car since it was new. The dealership claims that this is BMW policy, and since they are pretty good in all other regards I am inclined to believe them.

Which gives me yet another reason to despise BMW of North America. Great car, I respect BMW, I like the dealer. Just one weak link in the chain.

Yeah I like my car too. But what a stupid policy. It just seems like they have something to hide. I had a g35 before and I called a dealer I've never even stepped foot into and they faxed me a complete service history. I guess I'm spoiled to want to know this

I would be interested in getting a copy of my service history as well since I'm not the first owner. I don't see why they can't print it out for you, not even for a fee!

Did you try contacting BMWNA directly? Might make some headway there, if not at least you will know for sure if it's BMW's policy or not.

Good idea I should try BMWNA and see what they say. I'll report back when I do. I feel a run around coming...

wierd -- when I was shopping for cars, I had the local dealer run two service histories for me on cars I was interested in. No problem, he was glad to do it. And when I went in to negotiate on a program car at a different local dealer (which I eventually bought), the first thing I asked for was a service history, 5 minutes later it was handed to me.

Well, he could always go to another dealer and tell them he is considerinig purchasing VIN so and so, would they run the service history for him?

Really, I can't understand why the dealer wouldn't do it for his own car, either. When I went in for a software update, my dealer ran it again just to double check nothing had been done, and he had no problems copying it for me. Now I got two!

As a second owner of a e90 as well, I ran into this issue. Some service histories are printed with personal info on them, that's why the dealers are refusing your request. They do not want to breach the privacy of their clients. Not a bad idea. However, if you are persistent, you may be able to get an SA to print out the history and cut-off the personal info of the previous owner. This worked for me. Good luck.

Try a BT scanner. It tells you some of the service history but not specific mileages.

Yeah I have one. It shows maintenance history but I'm looking for repair/failure history
