F31 330d - Pure Blue Individual

Hi all, some of you will recall my E91 build and the part out! I bought an X5 30d which turned out to be a total lemon (would you like 4 different shades of Alpine White with your car, sir?)

I rejected it, and after looking round two more shoddy X5's within my budget, I decided to do the right thing and get a nearly new F31!

Progress may be slow initially, but I have some long term plans for this car

Quick intro to the car:

F31 330d Touring
2016 build
BMW Individual Pure Blue paintwork
Oyster interior

It has a nice options list, but I wont bore people with the full details, as I am sure most people already know whats available on there cars!

I collected it yesterday, and I have to say it is night and day compared to my previous E91 325d Touring. The tech and the way it drives with the 8spd is next level!

I will update more once I have got the ball rolling with some mods etc, but my shortlist is the following:

Full GTechniq detail - interior and exterior
6WB retrofit
OEM M3 wheels (black / diamond cut)
BMW M Performance front splinter and rear roof spoiler - colour coded or gloss black
MPPK

etc etc

I had the first mod done last night after getting home which was to enable ID6, DVD in motion and also Extended Bluetooth.

Interior on individual cars is something else.

Looks great mate. Seen loads of these about and they all look good but they are all in the usual BMW colours. Your colour makes it look like a different car.

Garage List
I spent a bit of time in a F31 330d xDrive going from Spa in Belgium to Wittlich in Germany a few months ago & found it a lovely place to be as a passenger; I love my E90, but the F3x is so much better. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this, especially the instruments. The colour is reminiscent of the VAG Jazz Blue, but quite a bit different from Yas Marina Blue. I like it muchly!

Lovely.
Think I'm going to get one as my next car. Just a 335I, 340 or 328 version.

Thanks guys!

For me, I think a 330d offers pretty much all the real world performance you would need, but I am considering a MPPK for it at some point!

Dont get me wrong, its no 340i - but its very impressive!!!

Nice, did you purchase it from Lovetts in Swindon?

They are my local dealer and I am sure I have seen the car around. Love the colour, I always assumed it was Santorini Blue.

Yes, thats correct! It came from Swindon - their sales manager had been driving the car since it was registered. Its a real eye catcher so not surprised you've seen it! Its a non metallic finish, never seen another to be honest!

Is 2016 build date a phase 2? BMW supposedly markedly improved the chassis and overall stiffness to bring back the more "dynamic" part.

Its a LCI car yes, to be honest I am not too clued up on the F3x yet! I believe that you are right though about the chassis changes.

Best wheels out there for the E9x.

I'm thinking of keeping this one totally OEM+ and going with a set of 19" F80 M3 wheels in black / diamond cut.

Unsure though, as I also like the BBS CI-R

So....

Some mods have started. Nothing fitted yet, waiting for them to arrive!

F80 M3 wing mirrors - had to be done! Will need painting Pure Blue first!

G Series NBT touch controller - should compliment the ID6 that's been coded!

Another quick update... ordered a custom retrimmed wheel from Ledermanz in Latvia. He's done my last two cars, and the quality looks great once again!

Will update with better pics once it's arrived & has been fitted!

It's nappa leather with alcantara & blue cross stitch. Also opted to have the centre trim done in alcantara too & he's supplying a set of F8x paddles also!
