Scratches Under Door Handle

I purchased by e93 last year. The paint and wheels were pretty neglected. Over the year (and with the help of this forum and its sponsors teaching me how to clay, polish, seal, etc.) I have restored the natural luster to the paint.

As I was admiring the finish after a wash I realized that the only area that really needs attention is the indentation on the door directly behind the door handle. There are tons of micro scratches there (as if repeatedly scratched by someone's nails when they were opening the car door). I have noticed this same thing on many other cars. How do the pros suggest getting this area cleaned up? It is obviously too small and area to hit with the Porter Cable and I am not interested in removing the door handles to get to it. Scratch X by hand maybe?

Use an aggressive compound by hand.
What I do is wrap a microfiber on my index finger and apply a dime size of compound and start rubbing. Just buff off and repeat to remove the scratches.

you have to do it by hand with some patience and elbow grease. you could try putting on some filler glaze/wax. it is much easier to apply but knowing that it will come off with repeated washes.

Thanks, I think I will try your solution.

Sounds like some m95 would fit the bill, but I don't have anything as aggressive as that (and don't want to buy a bottle for these two small little areas).

I have some Scratch X 2.0 that a friend gave me, but I have never actually used, so I'm not really sure how aggressive it is. Do you think it would work?

I think the ScratchX should do an okay job by hand if you really work at it. Especially for the price

I was super stoked to try this when I bought it like 2 years ago. The worst purchase I ever made. This crap tears up while working on any corner. I stuck it on my rims and I had red foam flying everywhere

Used the Scratch X and it did a good job. Used the suggestions and worked it in real well/fast. A more abrasive polish might be easier, but this wasnt too bad at all. Did 2-3 rounds on each door and followed up with some BFWD.

Awesome, thanks for the follow up. I might need to do this to my car one of these days, I'm wondering if M105 will be strong enough (so I don't need to buy any extra product)

Any thoughts, now that I'm not threadjacking Baysic?

If you already have some it will be fine to use, it's pretty aggressive.
