328i Drivers: Do you embrace your one-sided dual exhaust?

I want to see what's the general consensus is about having the one-sided dual exhaust opposed to the dual exhaust on both sides. There's been a lot of 328i cars on the forums converting to the dual exhaust like that of the 335i, but I also see a lot embracing what they got. Of course it's all personal preference.

Thus, do you like yours? Hate it? Plan on doing a conversion? Accept it? Feel free to express your thoughts on this subject.

I embrace the look. It's a 325i though.

Having twin 335i exhaust on it would be the case of having the talk but not the walk.

The N55 is a fake dual anyway....a dual exhaust makes no sense on an inline 6, except with the N54 having two turbos. 328 owners should embrace their single exhausts.

My 1979 E12 had true dual from the down-pipe all the way to the centre exit. My E30 and E36 had a true dual from the cat back, too. My E91, on the other hand, has a single pipe from the cat to the muffler, then a dual tip. So, I'd be happy witha single tip. If I wanted to fake it, I would have bought a fucking Pontiac.

By the way, I think it would be cool if BMW brought back the centre exit exhaust.

+1. Well they did actually. On a Mini.

Aesthetically I like the two-sided exhaust better, but it doesn't really bother me. My 330 had the one sided exhaust, too, so maybe I'm used to it.

Yes, I embrace the single sided exhaust. Two pipes coming out one side is the traditional BMW / I6 look. What I really would love is the two pipes coming out of the center shotgun style like my old 2002 and the old 5 and 6 series. Someone who accomplishes that would really impress me.

I could seriously care less about having a dual exhaust that exits both sides.

Dyno tests I have seen over the years prove that a properly sized single exhaust puts out just as much power as a dual...the downside to dual is that you have twice the weight your hauling around.

With exhaust there are two myths:
1) Bigger is better (not true, too big causes a power decrease)
2) Dual exhaust is better (not true either for most cars).

+1 on the N55.

The 128 and 135 both have single side exhaust, even the N54 version.

Its the difference between dual wielding vs a double barrel... The double is fine for me, plus don't we get extra luggage space under the trunk floor?

embrace.

IMO too many other good mods to do that are functional, to care about "dual exhaust"

i want to paint the dual tips. The chrome on SG looks weird. Any thoughts? I'll rock anything as long as it looks good.

If I were to make the conversion to dual exhaust on a E90 325i/328i I would go with the "M" bumper cover and the I6 3.2 M exhaust.

Call it being a poser or whatever but I like the symmetry. Hoping to do the "335i conversion" when my performance diffuser come in.

+1 for symmetry. Sometimes center works and looks awesome but I don't know about that on the e90...

I like it and it's a way of saying hey i'm a 328 don't bother racing me.

But for me if I wanted a more agressive look i'd go dual exhaust.
