Bovee tune2air issues

I am debating about getting one of these or a Bimmertech MMI Prime. I have a pretty large collection of albums on a 128gb USB drive but I also have Amazon Music and want to be able to stream through something. The MMI Prime adds Android Auto and Google maps. I am wondering if the Tune2Air would be a good beginning before I order the MMI Prime. Would I be able to keep my USB drive with the Tune2Air as it uses USB for power?

I've had my Bovee Tune2Air since around 2015. Its worked pretty good for me. Not sure if the quality of the recent ones have gone downhill, but might be worth it to buy one off of Amazon so that if it doesn't work well, returns are easy and free.
