Did you confirm INPA and WinKFP were able to connect properly? If you follow the install instructions from BimmerLabs TO. A. TEE. it will work.

My Bimmergeeks cable only flashes and when I plug it in but when it's "flashing" this time around

I couldn't get the rsa Opa and msv80 bat into the psgb file boxes.

I'm at the point where I will pay someone to remote in and set it up so I just have to hit enter

Have you gone through the process to install the whole BMW Tools suite from BimmerLabs as well as Rheingold?

If so, please open INPA while the cable is plugged in and the car is “on” and ensure it reads and communicates to the ECU properly.

Worst case is start from scratch with the BMW Tools install and make sure you follow the BimmerLabs instructions exactly. To the letter.

Could very well be - or if you were using a cheap cable. Did you use the .bat files to initiate it or did you manually do it? Using the .bat files is actually better as it sets all the parameters correct. Are you sure you have all the Standard Bimmer Tools and ISTA CLOSED before you started programming/running the .bat?

Pretty sure there was an MSV80.bat file included, but not that big a deal. I'm sure Joe would have led you to the right direction. Cable is a Bimmergeeks one? Assuming you were running the RSA delete when it occurred? But even that one should be a little while. A full charge on the engine (while not recommended without the constant power) should still do it -- again though, really wouldn't recommend as your accessories are on the whole time going nuts. The tune itself should only take a minute or two.

I ran the msv80.bat with Bimmergeeks cable (which only flashed during initial plugging in).. Winkfp became unresponsive but everything else showed "flashing" and after a 12 minutes of unresponsive-ness, I pulled the plug on operation as I had no idea of progress

Did you run RSA Delete? You will need a battery charger since RSA Delete takes ~30 minutes. Also, make sure your COM port latency timer set to 1ms. I had issues with RSA delete until I fixed latency timer. Good luck!

get a power supply, even if it's jumper cables from another running car.
download and install teamviewer on your PC.
I will PM you my email address.

we'll get it sorted.

I'm eastern time.
I'm up until midnight anyway.

edit:
and make sure you've got your bimmerlabs login handy, so I can download the files again and know what I've got.

I ended up paying Adrain at Sfcoding to do it as I was frustrated. Yes, the project ended up costing a little more than I wanted and I got the No more car shit for a while talk from the wife. But the car is amazing now!!

How much did it cost? I’m having similar issues and I can not figure it out for the life of me. Any help would be seriously appreciated. RSA delete went to 100% on first flash but had errors. I’m not sure if it completed the flash properly. I have tried to do the rsa delete again and I’m getting errors. “I’m using bimmergeeks cable by btw” I’ve tried installing all of the tools multiple times and using the instructions from bimmerlabs and also bimmergeeks deleting the files and replacing etc... right now I’m getting error 106: error on setting ecu address and error 2000:

Any help would be really really appreciated. Car just cranks and never starts.

Thank you
Dustin

If you have a cable it's like $100 or $140, can't remember

Did you disconnect the cable or have a battery tender hooked up? What happens if you try to flash one of the stock calibrations from the bimmerlabs website

It kinda sounded to me like he tried to flash the tune without having already performed the RSA delete. I don't understand the intricacies of this, but definitely would not try this myself given the instructions clearly state you need the RSA delete in order to flash the tune, which makes sense to me.

I got the same benign issue. When I tried the RSA delete it took some time but got errors at the end. Inpa worked fine and com1 & latency was set right.

Can the DME brick if the RSA delete didn’t complete correctly?

How are you loading the program and the tune? Try loading it manually with WinKFP without using the exec files.
