My just bought new to me e91 has terrible exhaust drone between 2000-3000 rpm at any throttle position other than 0.

It has AA headers
Stock mid pipe/resonator
AA gen 2 muffler
Euro airbox with K&N
Mishimoto intake hose

I can't handle it. I love the sound when it's above 3k and it's not too terribly loud but i.get a headache from driving it from the drone.

I took it to an exhaust shop and he told me to just get a stock muffler. Would that kill my performance?

Any other ideas? Any other mufflers that fit in the stock location ?
Can I replace the factory resonator with a performance muffler?
