i would really go for headers + tune if you can figure out something for CA emissions testing. headers are where the power is at.

clearly dropping the cats is not an option but hi flow's would work. sh!t you could even weld up the stock cats of the collector of the header.....

I contacted Gavin on Facebook and he said to email him about the headers and when I sent the email I immediately received an email back saying their has been some error and that no emails will go through
So I messaged him back on Facebook explaining it didn't go through and basically what my email said and still haven't gotten a response. Going on two days now with no response, sounded like he had one more left so hope he doesn't get rid of it

How much Hp would I gain with headers and about how much would they be?

And I was even wondering.. I have the PE and live in California.. So if I got headers I'm not even sure I could pass emissions ? :

Anyways not even sure if I could put more money down for the headers. Definitely would have to think about it lol just got rims powder coated and bought the PI and have the stage 2 schedule in 2 weeks lol

But if anyone has info please chime in!

e46 forums have one guy using modified magnaflow exhaust manifolds

they cut off cats, put flanges, and he can swap to cats when needed and take them off for track and such

u will see 8-12hp/tq across the whole powerband, maybe little more, cuz N51 came with more denser cat, weight more too.

with new smog law in CA u might be in luck, cuz all they do is plug diagnostic tool into your OBD. no more sniffer test.

if you get header make sure u ask them for the tune. regular tune might not work well.
