Some Carly & FRM questions.
So I bought Carly especially for decoding my battery and program my angels eyes as DRL's and avoid the steep learning curve of NCSexpert
Unfortunately, I got the "Carly has found severe faults in your FRM and has therefore NOT coded your FRM" There is a long story about this on their website saying "Some FRM2 and FRM3 modules with very specific firmware-versions develop a fault in the boot sector after multiple years of usage. As a result, the FRM cannot restart, once it has been shut down completely" And "We strongly advise against coding critical FRMs, no matter the program or device!" Does that also mean I can't use NCSexpert either for coding my angel eyes? Otherwise it will brick my FRM? Would it be advisable to connect a parallel battery when I am changing my battery to avoid rebooting the FRM? It is a E91 LCI production date 2010-07-21 Carly also is saying that the engine has a different vin than the chassis. Is that possible? Would the car even start if that is so? I forgot to write down the engine vin though to check that one out. |
