Do I have 'sports' suspension?

I have an E92 SE. I need to replace to the front two shock absorbers, however some garages I have spoken to say I have sports suspension, others say it has standard suspension.

How would I know for sure - want to make sure I get the right parts.

The car does have other 'sport' spec such as sport seats, paddle shift, etc.

Is there such a thing as 'sport' suspension as opposed to 'm-sport'?

My VIN is: E592826

I have already checked, it is not shown as an explicit option. Would it always be shown as such?

It does however show "S230A - Extra package, EU-specific", I did read on another forum somewhere that this could relate to a 'sports package'.

NOT All e92s come with sport suspension as standard.

I thought that was 335i/d only? If he had sports suspension the vin decoder would show it.

Would it always be listed as an option against the VIN?

Realoem and others seem to list the following parts:
31316796155 - left front spring strut
31316796156 - right front spring strut

But no mention of standard vs sport, only a separate listing for 'm-sport'

Yes and no. All m-sport E92 have sport suspension unless it was deleted when ordered. Sport suspension, however, was an option for the SE model: option reference 704. This applies to both pre LCI and LCI E92s.

The S240 reference seems to pop up in relation to most (all?) European BMW models, not just E92s and not linked to sport et cetera.

ed is right - with the exception of the 335i/d, MSport suspension was an option for SE cars.
If your SE is a 335i/d, then it will have MSport suspension.

Thanks for the help. Mine does not have the option code S704.

SACHS seems to be the OEM supplier.
