I have GIAC Stage 2 on mine, all city and I get 16 and a bit all the time - actually worse than my X5 35i was and much worse than the new X3 35i is.

I do admit that I like watching the boost gauge and generously applying the throttle at stop lights!

Even before it was tuned - 18 mpg was a good day in traffic/city driving - it will do 25 on a road trip, but so would the X5 - X3 will do even better than 25 on a road trip.

E93MAC, sweet ride!

But I'm confused, you've got a 328? Did you put an M3 fender on your car?

Yes I have M3 Style fenders on my car. I just like the style. The car is not badged as an M3 though. I'm not looking to make it look like an M3 just fenders needed a bit of flare and these looked great! There's also a 1M bumper on the front.

Hmmm... I know a few guys who wanted the flared fenders, yet went as far as intentionally filling in the vents so as not to seem like M poseurs, since the vents just scream M car...

That's great for them. They can fill it if they want to. It's their car. Just like this is my car. If I want m3 fenders I can have them I'm not badging it M so I'm not posing, anyone can see it's not an M3 because the fenders aren't wide the rear bumper is Mtech and the exhaust is different.

But again my car, my choice. As long as I like it and am not trying to fool anyone. That's all that matters.

It pisses me off that people get M3 side skirts and it's ok. Someone gets M3 fenders and people lose their mind! Its usually 335 owners too. Most of my friends are M3 owners and they do not see anything wrong with it, unless I badged it M3.

Mac.

Hence why side skirts don't bother anyone.

To me, swapping in a hood with a bulge in it would be the same.

It's a grey line where copying over M mods to a car borders on poseur vs. "I just like the looks of it better." I am probably more sensitive to it.

But at the end of the day, it's all esthetics, so it's all about what you like. You've got a beautiful and tastefully done ride.

So what if we do decide to be a "poser" as you state..... I plan on adding the M3 hood and fenders to mine. Not because I want to be a M3, but because I like the body style. So if you think I am a poser, that is your problem, not mine because it is not what I am trying to be. Only someone who does not know BMWs would assume it is a M3, but oh well, let it be.... If we like it, it is our car, our money!!!! You don't like it, don't do it to yours.....

I'm torn between the looks of the E93 with M359s and LMs.

Both look awesome, don't know which to buy in case I do get my E93 next month.

Suggestions?

M359's in my book. They seem to be more tougher. I did quite a bit of research on them and VMR's and these wheels will take more of a beating. The VMR's are good, don't get me wrong. But these are built better and take, bad roads, well.

My humble opinion. People can disagree. But I've had mine for 1.5yrs and there is not a single crack in them and I have hit plenty of potholes and am pretty low too.

Thanks man. I appreciate it. if you want to see more. My whole build thread is on e90post. If I wasn't on my iphone I would post it here. But take a look in the picture section. All my mods are listed.

Right at the end of the day it's just aesthetics, and since I'm allowed to mod my car as I see fit, I'm not understanding your posts. I do appreciate that you like it but saying "hmmmm" is like "well it screams M, my friends filled the vent because they didn't want to seem like posers" kinda makes it seem like your suggesting that I should think about doing that, otherwise why would you post it?

It is my car. I did it for a reason to get that look. Case closed.

Again. I think people get more flack from 335 owners than M owners who really couldn't care less, I have more friends that drive M3's and M5's than those who drive 328's and 335's. They have never suggested that it screams M. Nor am I or my car fooling any BMW enthusiast. Rear looks like 335, fenders look like M3, front looks like 1M. You get my point? I'm taking the things that I see as the best visual look for "my" car and applying them to "my car"

My $0.02. Agree or disagree. Makes no difference to me. I just wanted to let you know where I am coming from

Thanks.

Jaz I get what Lotus is trying to say, I think maybe he just said it in a way that made it seem judgmental.

But I think his overall posting was meant to be innocent.

Am I right Lotus?
