Weird Headlight Error
Hey guys,
I've been having a weird issue with my headlights and I've spent a week on them already. I was just driving down the road one day, when I get an adaptive headlight error on the dash and I pulled over. The passenger side headlight was out, but the halo rings, cornering light, and the halogen DRLs where out. Only the adaptive xenon headlight was out. Got home, swapped out the control module, bulb, balast, and the bulb to balast wire between the left and right headlights, and it's still the passenger side that's out. The headlight casing appears to be fine, no moisture, a good seal on the back. Any ideas? I can drive around with DRLs or just the rings and everything is fine, but as soon as I flick on the headlights, I get the error and the passenger headlight won't light up. When I took it apart, I jiggled all the wires and that fixed it for 5 minutes, but now no matter what I jiggle, it won't turn back on. Thanks in advance. |

Open up the back cover and check all the wires. These headlights put out a lot of heat and the wires start loosing the protective coating and short out. There is not a fix to that issue other than buying a new headlight. Stay away from used headlights because they will all do it.
