Any X5D owners on here?

My wife and I are looking to purchase a larger car to replace her aging Accord. I've been very happy with my 335D, especially after doing all the deletes. I was curious if there are any X5D owners here that could chime in on the reliability of their X5D as well as provide some information on the gas mileage they get (along with whether or not they have done the deletes).

I tried searching on the E70 forum side but haven't had much luck. I'm hoping I can find some of you guys here.

Are you looking specifically for E70 information or F15 works too? I have had an F15 35D for about a year now. Zero problems. 32 mpg average on a mountain road trip over the weekend. With 50/50 city/highway driving, I usually get 28 mpg. This is on a completely stock vehicle.

I was hoping to get information on the E70 specifically. But I appreciate your input. Im guessing the engine remained relatively unchanged between the E70 an F15?

Not sure on all the differences, but among the biggest is the the E70 with M57 is a twin turbocharged engine, where the F15 with N57 is a single twin-scroll turbo (F15 also got 8 speed trans).
The engine reliability of E70 with M57 is going to be very similar to your 335d (pre-delete) with the addition of a second EGR tract that pulls from after the particulate filter. In essence all the same stuff applies.
The real difference is going to be comparing the model needs of an E70 with the model needs of E90rwd, which is quite a bit different.

Ive had my 10 X5d just over a year and 15k miles starting at 96k. I usually get low 20s mpg. This is a great car for power, fuel economy, medium space, and excellent handling and safety features.

Thanks for the detailed response, very much appreciated. From what your saying, it sounds like you have both, an F15 and E70 correct?

You mentioned gas mileage in the low 20s for the 2010 X5D. Is that pre or post emissions delete?

Please disregard my question about owning both X5's.I confused the two posts and had an issue finding the edit button on the mobile application

That is a stock car with sport package (19 inch wheels) and fluidampr. Keeping emissions intact on this thing(because I believe in it, it is required for my area, and eventual resale). Fuel economy will vary by car(options and maint), by driver(driving habits), and by terrain/road experience(hills, highway, stop and go).

Yeah, I'm aware of all the variables that affect gas mileage. I guess the question of mileage was spurred on partially because I saw a dealer advertising one as getting around 35 mpg. I'm a bit skeptical of that seeing that the 335D is supposed to get around that much and have a hard time believing an X5D would have similar consumption. I guess there was also a little part of me that hoped there was some truth to that number as well
