I'm pretty firmly in the N52 for life camp, but can be swayed.
Our X5 has the N55, and so far drama-free.
I imagine having it in a heavy-ass car like the E93 would be a real positive.

The N55 in the E9x is a real treat. Really refined motor, IMHO better than the N54 (stock for stock). Just do those pesky rod bearings on early production date ones…

Mercifully the E9x does not suffer from the E70s propensity to corrode the head from blocked water drains…

I misremembered a bit - misaligned cowl water drain - causes water to drain and collect in cylinders 5 & 6…

Got it! That sounds annoying but a bit more reasonable! It does drain water right in front of the firewall, and the drains plug up. Lame design there.

The market peaked during the pandemic, now everybody has extra dogs and kids they don't need.

And isn't the color great!!! Saddle interior would be the only thing that could make it better!

What about the top scares you?

Mine has been stored outdoors in the sun for a while and it looks nothing like what a soft top would look like under similar circumstances. Just recently mine was outside in a 3 day downpour and all those big rubber seals still function the way they're supposed to.

The only thing that scares me is the fact that if the car was ever in an accident or something fell on the roof, it would be written off as a total loss and likely unrepairable.

Nice looking car but far too expensive, and pre-LCI E92/93 headlights look better.

Yeah, price is crazy... Good if they can get it I guess.
Low miles, great color, manual transmission, M Sport package... all positives!

A bit of a Rubics Cube to me. But to frame this, I also sold my E46 cabrio for fear of the long term reliability of the cloth top. Known issue the pump motor eventually dies. Now, my wife's Z3, we've had it for 27 years. It's a manual top.

Yes, we still have an N52 as well, in an e60. Another great car.

BaT is a good reference if you're negotiating with your insurance company. To me it seems like a bunch of bros overpaying for the convenience of one click car shopping. Definitely no deals there and no trailers needed despite the site name.
