Snow Tires

What's up guys just wondering what snow tires people are running this season ? It's about time for me to take off my PSS and get some solid snow tires. I have a 335xi so any suggestions ?

Bridgestone Blizzak, Michelin xIce or Pilot Alpine. Nokian Hakkepelita.
Continental and Dunlop, Pirelli and Goodyear also make ok snows.

Got a set of 4 wheels with Blizzak WS80 waiting for my wife's car.

I love my Blizzaks on my M3. Last year I had Michelin Alpins. My Alfa Romeo has IceGuards. My wagon also has Blizzaks. My first choice is definitely Blizzaks but they all have performed great. Do yourself a favor guys... don't drive on regular tires in the winter. Its a game changer to have winter tires on.

Continental vikingcontact 7. They're the highest overall performers this year. Even better than Nokian hakkapeliitta R3. I have the last gen R2's and they are amazing.

Where in the U.S. do you live? Studded tires might be a better choice.

Don't get caught up on the idea that you MUST get the best. Even basement bargain snow tires are better than not using dedicated snow tires at all. Blizzaks are great in the snow and ice but tend to wear quickly when driven on pavement a lot. The new Viking contact 7's do look nice (are reviewing well too) and they're a new design so should have the best tech packed into them, they would be my vote price be damned.

Floydrogers covered a lot of great options, I'll also add Toyo Observe winter line as another solid option. Hankook and Yokohoma would be options I'd have no problem running either.

Yeah the Viking Contact 7 have the most amount of sipes I've ever seen on a winter tire, though it seems that some might be superficial sipes and disappear the more they wear. They're more aggressive than the R3' and cheaper. They will probably be my next set.

Installed Michelin PA4s on my 335is a few weeks ago. No complains so far. In fact it almost feels like my set of PS4s on dry pavement

I just installed a set of Sumitomo Ice Edge on my 2008 328xi. Now watch it not snow this season in Northern Virginia. (FYI this is my first BMW; coming from 15 years of truck ownership, so this is all relatively new to me.)

Studded: Continental Ice Contact 2 is a great tire. I have no experience with the new Ice Contact 3. In my opinion and many other people, these are better than any Nokians. Vikingcontact in case you don't want studs.

General Altimax Arctic 12. Used them last year in 4" of snow in the mountains of upper state NY with a RWD 328i and no issues.

Even the Chinese winter tires would be better than summer or all seasons under wintry surfaces. However I think where the differentiation would be performance when it is worn a few 32nds. Would cheap winter tires hold up as well as branded ones?
