07 updated with new 09 nav

So a friend of mine just purchased a used 07 528i, he decided to look for a copy of the new navigation online, found it and burned it to a dvd, 1 for me and 1 for him.

I put it in my dvd car nav and it loaded to my suprise!!, we now have updated 09 maps!!

I got speed cams and red lights on my POI now!!

Figured I tell most of you here at e90post before bmw finds a way to stop it.

this has been on here for ages + detailed instructions on how to burn them and what DVD to use.

But thanks for the effort anyway

Any chance you could burn a copy for me? I'll paypal you the costs if possible.

Please PM me and let me know because I have temp tags now that aren't really visible and I think I have fallen victim to a few speed cameras but they can't track me for another week till my plates show up haha.

Been using the 09 maps with speed & red light cams for almost a year now. Check out post #404 of here. All you have to do is download and burn the ISO on a SL DVD.

how do you get to it on the 2009 dvd?

You have to have the Big Boy version of the 2009 Nav DVD. If you have it, then search the POI section that lists BMW Centers and such.

Is there a way to see on the display what database version the Nav system thinks it's got in it? I've done all kinds of searches and what comes up doesn't seem to apply.

I have an 07 328xi (with Nav, obviously).

While where at it, is there a way to tell what version of the nav software it's running? I poked around all the menus yesterday, I didn't see anything.
