Low Pressure Warning Light won't go out !

i've done a quick search and can't seem to find any threads on this specific problem....

i drive a 2006 E90 320D and the runflats have been ditched in favour of normal tyres.

the low pressure warning light has come on on the dashboard (my car doesn't have i drive) and when i reset it with a click of the button on the end of the indicator stalk the light just comes back on a few seconds later

the warning light first came on when i got a slow puncture on the rear so i pumped it up and check all the others were the same, the light would not reset ! i have since replaced the two rears and all four tyre pressures have been equal for a week now but the light will still not reset from the indicator stalk button !!!

is there something i'm missing ???

I take it that you have gone though the reset sequence, (do you have to do it with the engine off? I can't recall), then taken the car out for a drive of at least 1/4 mile. This should reset the TPMS for the next time you use the car.

ahhhh, this would be the part that i'm missing then Mike !!!

i have no idea how to do this reset sequence whatsoever, can anyone enlighten me please ??

This worked well for me

Step 1
Insert key into slot
Step 2
Press start/stop button without depressing clutch/brake and wait for the service reminder to dissapear.
Step 3
Immediately after service reminder goes out, press and hold the odometer reset. After 3 secs a warning triangle will appear, keep the odo. button pressed and after another 2-3 secs the Oil can will appear. I f you hold it too long (10 secs in total) you will overshoot the runway and some German writing will appear giving the software level/ can bus etc. of the car. Go back to the beginning and start again.
Step 4
You are now in the service menu, use the toggle switch on indicator stalk to scroll up/down through the various service items.
Step 5
When you have the item you want to reset showing, press the BC button on end of indicator stalk. Reset should now appear in the display. Press in and hold the BC button for 2-3 secs and a clock will start whirling around and hey presto, its done
Step 6
You can now either scroll up/down to select another item (as in step 4) or you can press the start/stop button to exit.

Why not follow the manual...

My abbreviation...

1. Start engine, don't drive off.
2. In the indicator stalk/lever, scroll the inset button, until the tyre symbol and the word 'INIT' are displayed.
3. Press the end button, to confirm your choice.
4. Push the end button and wait (several seconds) for the tick symbol to be added to 'INIT'.
5. Drive off and let the initialisation take place, there is no further feedback.

So simple.

We should really be in the habit of using this system. Don't forget we should be resetting the TPWS system everytime we adjust the tyre pressures.

HP's method (and the method in the handbook ) is correct. The procedure above that is to reset service intervals (as opposed to simply the tyre pressure initialisation) and should NOT be done unless you want to f*ck up all of your CBS service intervals.
