LUX Angel Eyes - WOW

Okay, you can laugh, I know I'm way late to the party. I'm not much into cosmetic mods and I like to spend maintenance money on real parts considering the miles I drive every year. And with the E90 now well north of 300,000 miles I now really only spend money on necessary parts.

But the stock angel eye bulbs were giving me fits. The first one burned out a long time ago before anyone was really offering an upgrade, so I replaced it with an OEM bulb; $45 is ridiculous for a 10W incandescent Bayonet Base bulb. So the next time I modded the BMW bulb base so I could just change the $4 bulb. Then I tried some CAN-compliant LED bayonet base bulbs - what a joke... Anyway the incandescent bulbs keep burning out every 12 fricking months.

So this last time last week I said fuckit, I'm just going to get the LUX V6's. They arrived Wednesday. I installed them yesterday. WOW.

Excellent product. Performs as advertised. Well made, fit is perfect, installation instructions are spot on. Well worth the money, especially compared to the price of the OEM POS 10W bulbs.

Oh and the install probably saved my life because I discovered the ball joint on my left tension strut (thrust arm) is bad...

Just wanted to share.

NOTHING but respect for you sir. Very impressive work. I am extremely impressed. My background is in industrial engineering, so I understand the work that you went though to develop and productize the LUX Angel eyes suite of products.

Thank you.

It's not worth taking pics because my headlights have 300,000+ plus miles on them. The lenses are quite pitted and the chemical transposition of the plastic from dead bug bodies is quite obvious. The WOW factor is that you can see lots of pics of LUX products, but until you see them in person only then does the effect hit home of how great and drastic the change from stock really is.

If you plan to keep the car longer you can always buff the headlights too. I personally have had great luck with XPEL headlight covering and that also may take out of lot of the haze by itself once they are cleaned correctly

Thanks. I'm going to probably get some Eastwood headlight restorer product and go from there. My new-found LUX luminosity I now have has made the lens issue more prevalent... Thanks

If you end up restoring them and want some extra protection for the future you should consider getting some clear film

Yes they are the best for the buck! I had my LUX angel Eyes for about 3 months now and I absolutely love it! they are very bright during the day. Only complain is that the sticker lasted 1 week LOL

I'm very happy with them

It would be nice if the light output from the inner and outer rings were the same. Although I guess this isn't a LUX issue, more like a BMW design issue.

that depends on the model car you are talking about. the OP has a pre-LCI e90 sedan so the rings are exactly the same..

On the H8 angel eye headlights the inner ring will always be brighter due to the design of the headlight, and there is no way to change that. the LUX H8 lights do focus as much light as possible to the outer rings to help compensate and make them much closer in brightness.

I agree with you, I bought a set of H8 160's a while back only to find out that my March 2007 build e92 was not compatible. But I put them in and they were fantastic when they turned on. Wish there was a way to force them to work on my e92.

I have no problem with the light out put. If you sit level with headlights they are same brightness.

Its very easy to do. I had a spare restoration kit that I got a while back from a local Toyota dealer. After that bought my LUX kit and oh man never been happier with the look of my headlight's.

For your car we actually make the LUX H8 V5 2007 coupe models. These ones will work perfectly with the car with no errors or warning at all.

LUX is great but during the day you can't see it. I have halogens. I still coded it as DRL. Still disappointed it didn't last as long as I thought it would have. It died after 3 years or so. Bought another set. If you're handy unlike me you can contact LUX and have them rebuild it.

for the Pre LCI's there is the LUX E90 V6 that we offer and these have been tested against a number of other poplar and more expensive products and have proven to be brighter. Please follow the link in my signature for more information on these including pricing.

These are angel eye bulbs, not headlight bulbs...
