Heh, I guess when I think about it, I've been out of the Evo game for over a year.

I don't want to scare you guys, but every single post I've read that someone cracked these open says they would not recommend it.
I'm not worried about it bein hard... I'm jus... lazy lol like I'm going to get a short shift kit, downpipe+coils, an I'll probably do em all at once 2 along with whatever other suspension bits I come up with around that time.

Oh, an about the headlights, don't be scared The "hardest" part of opening up some headlights, is sealin em back up at the end. I've done plenty of projector/color set ups for dif cars, an usually the hardest part is gettin em off of the car, unless you just take the bumper off

Noob here, but out in the OBX.

Not surprisingly, I find myself in the 757 thread of the Mid-Atlantic forum....just like everything else out here I guess our regional capital is Hampton Roads lol.

Any other northeast NC peeps?

You might want to look up the headlight mod. This isn't a Civic or Jetta. If you bake them, they distort the housing and the glue isn't even warm. We're talking 1000 degree heat guns for like 8 minutes. Scary stuff meng.

What SSK are you looking at?

ya, no bakin man lol I use a blowdryer to get em open, but if the sealant is that serious, I might end up scrapin it all out for somethin else jus to make the resealing go a lil smoother... meh, I'll cross that bridge later

But I was lookin at the OEM BMW SSK.

really tho.. I'm not sure if it's an OEM thing or not, as I've seen it in only 1 or 2 threads and haven't had any luck findin places to actually buy it. I just want somethin a LITTLE shorter

Just did some exterior modding last night. Jb4, OCC, and DCI comes in today. CF wrap for roof and trim coming soon. DPs and spacers in a few weeks maybe.

Anything else my fellow NCers recommend?

All plastidip. It's my third car doing dip so I've figured out how to do it near perfectly haha.

I've never done jb4 but I had an evo x that did 400/412 (dynojet) on e85 so I'm hoping that the jb4 dci and some ethanol mix (30%) will get me close then it's just waiting for DPs to get over the hump.

Get the blacked out/carbon fiber roundels to complete the look.

Nice. Those are some great results out of plastidip. Care to show me the ways?

Also, are you DIYing your JB4? I would be willing to help/watch/hold instructions/do mine at the same time, I've never installed one either and it's in the box at my house (along with DP fix). Only issue is that I need to do it on my day off, Friday, during the day. Btw, I'm in Raleigh.

Thinking about doing DP Friday and JB4 if I have time. Then next Friday I think I'll tackle plastidip.

I was thinking about that, read my mind. I was also debating maybe getting the red ones to match the interior and eventually red brakes...

Tape it with making tape, then 5 light light coats should work and then using an exacto knife cut where the tape meets the emblem, and slowly peel away while applying pressure

HAHA no way!?

That's funny, Yes I do! It's actually Platinum Bronze Metallic, but it is very similar to cashmere silver. I've only seen one other e92 in the same color.

You just picked up an e90 right? If you see me, say what's up! Pretty sure i'm the only PB e92 with black wheels around, so you cant mistake me!
