Square setup with four Style189-18x8.5 ET37...what should be tire specs?!

In a search of a good square setup
I found two rear+two rear style 189 wheels...
Was wondering if i can do

Those four Style189-18x8.5 ET37 with 245/40-18 setup on all four...
or
is it too wide in the front?!
and too tall for the rear?!

235/40-18 is my next safest!?

I have 235/40/18 on 8.5" wide rims...a little less rim protection but looks great

I am currently running a square setup of 18x8.5 et40 with Generals 235/40/18 and haven't had any issues.

255s in front work fine with sport suspension. I've done dozens of events with no issues.

Would like to bump the thread to get more replies!!

Such a hassle if i do order 245/40/18 and then they rub and i would have to sell them and exchange them for 235/40/18....

I just had this setup installed (style 313 instead of 189) on my 335xi. Works really well. I was going to go with 235s but the tire I wanted was on back order in this size so I went with 245s instead. I am very happy with the result.

I was thinking of the same setup. How is the strut clearance on the fronts? I'm debating staggered or square.

I run 245/40/18 ET:29 on 8.5s on my E90 LCI. No rub at stock height.

I'd say <10mm of clearance with my 245/40/18 Conti ExtremeContact DW

there is not a ton of room but I have not experienced any rubbing (~200mi). I've heard some forum members mention that 255s work with no rubbing. I don't think 255s would work without rubbing with my setup.

235/40R18 works all day with no problems. Many/most report no problems with 245/40R18 as well.
