I'm new to this whole TPMS thing... why do you need them replaced? Do they need to be replaced every time you need a new set of tires or something?

Lets say you purchased a set of aftermarket rims and tires that didn't come with the TPMS sensors. In some places, they won't mount/balance/install your new rims and tires without them. I got quoted some new law that they said it requires them to be installed on vehicles that utilize the TPMS system...

EAS sells a part that allows you to not run TPMS & not get the warning light. TPMS makes it more difficult to balance. That's why you always see a bunch of weights opposite of the valve. Myself, I'd rather not have TPMS. I think it was brought on by folks being to uneducated to check their tire pressure regularly.
