nope not interested in karting for this one..
more interested in where you're taking us on the run. I don't fancy driving 100miles just to study other people's chrome in a carpark if you know what I mean SJ |

My point exactly.
Incidentally I managed a lap of the M25 today at rush hour for each part together with a rip through the twisties between East Grinstead - Haywards Heath - Tunbridge Wells and got 34 mpg. A massive surprise from the 18 I have had to date. What a fun ride this car is - keeps that shitfaced grin on your face no matter where you are. |

To those travelling from the south,
If you do end up coming up the A1 have you considered going slightly further North before heading East, along A428 to Cambridge? Would probably add no ore than 10 mins/10 miles to journey. We can then convoy..... Someone (can't remeber who, or be arsed to look) was talking about coming from Milton Keynes - they would use A421 and A428 also, so could have a mini convoy with the four of us? Carlos has just messaged me regarding the drive - I'll be working out a route where we can try and have some fun, there will be no car park trawling, don't worry! Can we just guage what people want to do though - do we want to eat at some point? Go for a drink somehwere? Do people want to do karting?

Oh poo.
I've just looked on the calendar thread, and clicked on everyone's name - seems everyone (apart from me) is in a 335d/i Think I can get a nitrous kit ordered, delivered and fitted in a weeks' time??!! Last time I was this out horsepowered at a meet was the last pistonheads run I went on; The ferrari was laid up ill (nothing changes there) so I had to take the Impreza - I went out with some TVR's a couple of Ultmas and a Noble - cue Simon about to get his pants pulled down... Fortunately for me, it pee'd down with rain and none of them saw which way I went!! Any chance all of you will suffer simultaneous turbo failure so I might keep up??!!

What time is the meet in Cambridge? That's going to decide whether I can make it or not. Have to have to have to be back in London by 4:45 - have a charity function that evening.

Cool, are you coming?
If so, did you want to meet somewhere en-route and journey in together?

I do live in Cambs, yes:
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.sr...8009&ay=258655 (Greeny Blue line represents the A428) I am 2 mins from where the A1 meets the A428 (presumably the route you'll take?) My place is approx 30 mins from the meet point. I can suggest a meet point at the base of the A428 at Wyboston where you (and anyone else) would leave the A1. We could meet there at, say, 11.15?

Sounds good to me. Will it take 45 mins to get where we are meeting then or just have a chat and stuff first?

Will take probaby half an hour, Cambridge City Centre traffic can be unpredictable, so I thought 11.15 to err on the side of caution?

Oh, and also we're not going to spend all day in the car park are we?! Not so keen admiring concrete and white lines spaced 8ft apart.. Has someone already come up with a good route(s) to drive? Would be worth planning in advance so we don't waste an hour deciding what to do |
