It's been real E90post
Due to someone running a red light, my poor E90 was totaled a few weeks ago. Took some time with the insurance but due to it being an 07, the cost to repair with radiator damage and airbag deployment meant there was no hope.
I've found myself a beautiful 2014 f30 335 msport with 6MT AND RWD! (Was a pain in the ass finding that spec lol). I'll be on these forums from time to time as my vast e90 knowledge is better suited here. It's been a real pleasure over the last 6 years driving that car and interacting with you all. I have to say, the e90 is by far the best car I'll ever own hands down. It really is the perfect car. Very well built and it has a design that will never get old. I'm happy to report there were no injuries. The airbags went off and the car dialed emergency services and then that's all she wrote. Car never started again. All the damage was absorbed in the front end and I walked without a scratch. Stay safe out there guys and gals people can be real stupid on the road! |

Glad you walked away, shame that people aren't attentive and do stupid sh*t like running reds. 6MT on F30 is special! Enjoy that N55 and drive safe!
Got any pics of old/new to share with us?

Well I'm more of an NA guy. But the N55 has no real noticeable lag.
The first thing is you feel the size. E90 is smaller but definitely feels smaller. Steering feels miles better on E90. I enjoyed the noise of the N52 more than the N55. But that's subjective I think the handling of the F30 is bit sharper but the E90 I had was not sport suspension so it's not a fair comparison. I do think the F30 has more of an aggressive look but I believe the E90 is the better looking car. It's a classic design for sure. The interior is definitely cheaper in the F30. More plastics used such as the center console trim on the side and around the E brake. And also under the radio stack is plastic. But I will say the design of the F30 looks newer and modern and I love that large Nav screen. If you own an E90 335 I say the jump isn't too bad. You'll miss the steering and size of the E90 for sure. But overall I am very happy with the car. Oh and as for the 6MT I have no idea. I had an auto in my 328 so I'm not sure how it compares to other bmws but from what I've heard it's very similar to e90 6MT |

If you don't mind me asking insurance-wise, did the total cover more or less than what the car was worth? Which insurance company? I always ask because my Dad had his 160,xxx 2009 E350 totaled a few years back and the insurance company nearly paid him x2 the KBB for the car.

And yeah so the insurance paid be about $2k over kbb value for it. I was expecting like 5 and they paid me $8,200. I was definitely pleasantly surprised. I had full coverage on the E90 as I do the F30. I use Geico and I highly recommend them. |

Glad to hear you walked away from the accident ok. The new F30 looks great, and well done on finding a manual!
My 2013 e92 has electric power steering (presumably very similar to the F30) and I find it fine - sure it's very light at low speed, which when parking is actually useful?! Once up to speed it's good, I don't find it feels particularly artificial. The car belies its weight in reality and the handling is great for what it is - the m-tech suspension probably helps. Coming from old '02s, e21s and e30s all the late cars feel over assisted to me - even the much revered e46! Still have an e30 as a weekender if I want to drive something that's a bit more raw |

Bro I dont care what anybody says about the F series BMWs: That's a nice car brother and a worthy upgrade. The E90 did its job by keeping you safe.
Congrats on the upgrade man. |
