Awbimmer's New Project - E63 ///M6 - UK's 1st Bagged M6 - More Pics Last Pg

Hi guys,

I appreciate this isn't the M section nor is it for E6x but I've enjoyed my time on here knowing some of you guys so I thought to update you on the latest with myself.

Sold my 335D to a friend on here and, bought his M6 from him. I've known this car and history for 4+ years and I know it's been really well cared for and has had a lot of warranty work done.

It was previously wrapped in Matt Metallic Blue for a few years but I wanted that off so before we exchanged the paperwork and cars, I requested the (then) owner to remove it, from the same place it was wrapped. On removal, the paint work and lacquer started peeling. So with a big gulp, I decided to get this bad boy FULLY resprayed back to it's OEM colour, Indianapolis Red.

I met with the M6 and it's owner 2 weeks ago. Exchanged paperwork and cars and I left the car at the bodyshop there and then (so I didn't even drive the car at that point).

Last Sunday, I went to collect the car and just fell in love! I also requested for kidney grills and side skirt extensions to be redone in gloss black which he did.

Mods So Far:
  • Eisenmann Race Exhaust
  • CF Trim - Original
  • Side Skirt Extensions
  • Headlights and Rear Light Tint
  • 20" BC Forged HB29 Wheels with Dunlop SP Sport Max Tyres
  • H&R Springs
  • Private Plate

Plans:
  • Refurb Wheels
  • Headlights re-done
  • MAYBE 'Bag' it (previous car being 335D bagged on Accuair Air Ride) - *puts on flamesuit*
  • Ceramic Coating after about 1 month and;
  • Detail engine bay + interior

Before Respray with Wrap

After Respray (excuse bad quality pics, it really doesn't show the pop in the paint)

New to the petrol world as this is my first ever petrol car and I just needed it. I've covered 115 miles so far and have been VERY sensible and careful. Yet to take it past 5k RPM lol and I'm almost treating it like a brand new car lol.

Need to now decide which warranty to go for - will keep it posted.

Nice - would love an M6 but couldn't afford the running costs.

That's why a 2nd car is handy for that. I am fortunate to WFH 3-4 days a week or whenever I like, so when I do go in, I use the M6 or the daily micra LOLLL.

Full Tank is about £75 and It takes you to 300 ish miles. But realistically expect about 250-80 to a full tank lol

Amazing. Congrats mate. Wait till you rev that thing out to 8300!

I do wonder if I should have done the M6 rather than the M3. Oh well next time!

Congrats Sam, driven loads of these engine's biblical as you reach the upper limit gear box is an acquired taste especially in full auto (I prefer paddle use) the issue with them is things like clutch set up its critical and most we see aren't set up correctly which leads to clutch wear etc. and its so damn difficult to know but boy they are nice...... colour wise love it.... enjoy

Agree!!! mine drank like a fish. full tank and only 170 miles later the petrol light was on.

I loved it man, still prefer it to my current M5. The noise and the way it pulled was what did it for me.

Man, it does look nice though, and welcome to the M family mate.

looking forward to some better pics inside and out. I thought the wrap was one of the better I have seen but not as good as decent paint job I guess.

I have to say that I still need some convincing on that boot !
