Bad Fuel Injector?

Hi guys, hope someone can help. My car is stumbling at idle and misfiring pretty bad. I check the error codes and I get a P29D2 and a P2E35. They are indicative of a bad spark plug, coil pack, or fuel injector in cylinder 6. I replaced all the spark plugs ( they were due to be replaced anyway). I swapped out a coilpack to see if it followed and it didn't. I looked up how to replace the fuel injector and it doesn't look difficult but it says it needs to be "coded" with some software. I don't have the software obviously. Is this something an indy shop would have, or do I need to go to the dealer? Have any of you done this yourselves?

I have done this procedure twice. It really isnt that bad. I would get a puller to free the stubborn ones ahead of time. I have the software on my computer and could code them for you, but I'm in Taunton and just had a baby so its tough finding free time.

I appreciate the response BMWhartgeM3. I know how tough finding time is with a little one. Thing is, I'm sure I could do it myself if I had the time but I just don't lately either. Going to try to find a shop close by to do the work.

I have done these a handful of times and made a made a DIY puller as well that works great.

I actually just installed a set of index -12 a few weeks ago on my E61 with coding. I have an extra set of -12 if your interested with low miles, I can also help with the coding if you need.

I would check out Northshore Motor Werks in Peabody! James knows these cars, and plays no games. Great worry free experience.

Awww, crap. Just seeing your reply now Island Road. I would have bought those injectors from you! I had to buy new ones. Job was really easy but it didn't fix my problem. Maybe I'll bring it to Northshore Motor Werks in Peabody, BMWhartgeM3. Do they do Walnut blasting? I assume this is going to be the next recommendation.

Did you code the new injectors with INPA when you replaced them?

RCB, I coded the injectors with a Schwaban scan tool. It was on sale for $150 bucks so I bought it. The car is running great now and I think the issue was that I changed the plugs, then drove it around while the injector was still bad. Then I did the coils, drove it around and the injector was still bad. Then I changed the injectors and it still threw the code. Finally I removed the spark plug in cylinger 6 and cleaned it. It had gotten dirty in the mean time. Once I cleaned it, bam, I was good to go. Even though the car was running fine, I brought it to North Shore Motor Werks and had the walnut blast done. The car has 130k on it and it has never been done.
