Quaife LSD for 335is DCT, full pumpkin, no core needed. Keep your stock pumpkin.
Please don't mind that its dusty. It's sitting at my friends body shop.

$2,200 Local pick-up preferred in So Cal - OC/LA.

Completely transforms the power delivery and handling of the car. The one thing the iS was missing was a LSD.

Honestly I think given that I park on a slight enough angle downward toward the driver side, my injectors may leak but miss the plugs considering their angle related to eachother. This may be why my plugs are dry but piston heads are slightly wet.

Either way, still no recalls under my Vin so I'll be checking daily. Until then, 99 Acura TL for the win...... lol at least it has a Bose system in it.

I have a few set of these F80 style 335is gauge faces available with the standard 160-340F oil temp. I had this one made one off for me with the M3 oil temp scale.

Here's a couple pics of the ones I have installed in a customer's 335is cluster.
After I saw this post I knew I had to have an upgraded cluster with red needles and led lighting. Bill is awesome, he has clusters you can just swap in without a hassle, super fast service, plug and play in a matter of 5 minutes.

Very nice...(borat voice).

One like this should do the trick
Hi 335is clan,

I want to replace my stock, tired looking exhaust tips with the ECS 4 inch tips that clamp to the 2.5inch exhaust pipe. I sprayed PB blaster and hammered a block of wood but the tips did not budge. Has anyone replaced their exhaust tips? How did you do it?

They're attached by three or four small spot welds. The black tips are just sleeves that fit over standard exhaust tips. A small cutting disc on a dremel works. You'll need to drop the exhaust down to get to the welds on the top side.

Ahhh...OK that explains why I couldn't get them to budge. Looks like a little dremel cutting is the way to go. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

DCT Filters, Pan, Bolts for $269

Hey All,

I found a great deal after searching the interweb with my friend Borat. This is a good deal for $269. Check it:
https://www.oembimmerparts.com/BMW-3...108070791m.htm

Also, I ordered 7 bottles of Liquid Moly DCT Transmission Fluid for $13 a liter.
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/dua...i-moly-lm20044

I can do my entire service for $360 in parts (most other sites are around $500 to $600).

I have this DCT fluid change planned for this weekend (DIY). I will measure how much fluid comes out of my transmission and then replace it with fresh DCT. As long as I replace all the filters the pan and gasket, I am ok with the fact I may not get all 6.9 liters of used fluid out of DCT. There are some videos out there that say to use a special procedure via software to get every last drop out but I don't have the software (windows only and I am a mac guy).

Just wanted to share...

Update After Replacing DCT Fluid.

This job is fairly simple but ensuring you are refilling your DCT with the appropriate amount of fluid is key. To measure how much DCT came out, I used a small bucket that I filled with water and marked the 4l, 5l, 6l, and 7l marks.

Then I followed this procedure:
https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1518740

I was able to get about 6L out after removing the filters. The round filter required a good pair of C Clip pliers. I had to run to NAPA to get pliers that worked. The ones I had were too small and wouldn’t spread wide enough.

I refilled 4l initially, then I ran the car for 1 minute at 2k rpm and let it idle. I was able to add 2 more liters while it idled for a total of 6l which is the same volume of fluid that came out. Key to this job is a good pump with a container that is pressurized. You want to fill your DCT pretty quickly while the car is at idle to prevent the fluid from getting too hot.

My old DCT fluid was not too dark after 63k miles and the magnet on the pan didn’t have too much gunk on it. The pan was sweating due to the gasket beginning to fail. I bought all new bolts for the pan and a new fill plug which came as a package. I don’t think I actually needed new ones but I had them so I replaced them.

All in all, it took a few hours minus the run to NAPA. The c-clip is a pain to get off and on. Other than that just follow the linked procedure above and you will be fine.

Hope this info helps....

Has anyone replaced the clutch in their 6speed 335is?

I own a 2011 with jut under 78k on the odometer. Went for a drive yesterday when I noticed the clutch started to slip (rpms raising while the car is not picking up speed).

Did some research and I am leaning on replacing the flywheel but the price for OEM is around $1200. I saw mention of members purchasing the LUK flywheel for a fraction of the cost but I did not see this option avail for the 335is.

For those that have done this type of job in the past, which flywheel would you recommend using?

For anyone with an e92 335is on 19" 313 wheels, what spacers do you have? My front tires are 225 and rear are 255 and I'm on stock suspension.

Misfire Question

Hey!
I've got a 11' 335i Manual. Recently It's been raining quite a bit - what better time to do donuts/ drift, right?
While I'm in higher RPM's mid-drift or donut my engine bogs down and doesn't give full power anymore (doesn't shut off) just simply annoying...

Sometimes after a strong pull, It will shut off when I come to a stop.
From what I've read I have a faulty coil, anyone else has this issue? or know a solution.
Thanks!

Spark plugs and coil packs are a wear & tear item for the N54. If you're over 40k miles I recommend purchasing a set of each from FCPeuro for their lifetime warranty. Should cost about $300 and pretty easy to replace yourself.

Hey I'm new to the forums, I traded in my 04 325i and got an alpine white 2012 335is. The car has 60k miles and runs and drives just about perfect. Charge pipe blew the other day while going maybe a little too fast on the highway. Came to find out the plastic charge pipes are prone to breaking, especially once the car is at 60k miles. So not worried about it, $255 for a COBB CP and it should be fixed tomorrow. I'm wondering what advice any of you may have on what I should do to the car, such as preventative maintenance or modifications you would recommend. anything you can share about your experience with a 335i/is that I may find useful would be appreciated as well! I was thinking of a TIAL blow off valve and catless (or catted?) DP's, already has an aftermarket air intake in, not sure what specific intake though. Open to any and all suggestions from you, here are some pictures too!!

Looks nice and welcome. Before going FBO I would look into Walnut blasting, new coils and plugs. Consider changing the water pump and thermostat.

What are you plans for the car, Daily, weekend, or race car?

The mods are endless so it really depends what you want to do, but take car of all the maintenance you can now.

Is it a DCT or manual?

Thank you for your recommendation! I will definitely look into each of those things now before I move into the bolt ons. It's a DCT, and as far as plans go, I'm 19 and just upgraded from a 04 325i, so it's my daily driver, but I would like to get a few more horsies outta the engine while still keeping the car reliable. I don't need a full blown race car right now

19 and an IS, sweet. Do the maintenance and then FBO and tune and you will be flying.

Follow NoGuru's advice. I would do the water pump and thermostat ASAP, those can go at any time >50k miles.

After that walnut blast, spark plugs, and coil packs. Then you'll be ready to start with the fun mods.

I will pile on here being a new 335is owner myself. Waterpump, t-stat, spark plugs and coil packs were done on mine (I am at 62K). I also tackled the DCT fluid change job too. The Waterpump is a pain in the ass for sure, its not like other BMWs I own. Its not inexpensive to do the above.

Now I am moving on to a stage 1+ tune from MHD and downpipe from Cobb. Then see where I want to go from there.
