Coding nfrm module does not stick
Hi all
I'm new to coding but have read a lot and had some success so far. But I'm now trying to code folding mirrors with the key fob and struggling with setting a value in the nfrm module. I've searched but can't find anything similar. When I code it I can tell the nfrm is resetting because the lights on buttons go out briefly and the windows will not do the auto up (back to normal after key out/lock/unlock). But my problem is that the coding does not seem to stick. If I immediately read ecu after coding, the value in the trc file doesn't reflect my man file change. And the feature I want isn't working. Any ideas why it doesn't stick? Thanks |

Hi,
I assume that you use expert MAN profile in ncsexpert? Try this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7ubyjfczit...files.rar?dl=0

Yes, I use a profile with the option to program from the man file. Will try those profiles thanks, but it's strange that I managed to code other modules. When I read ecu, I should get back my coded values right, rather than the defaults?

ok, if other modules are able to be coded then it is SW version issue in NFRM. It must be programmed to the newer version.

I've programmed the DME and transmission with WinKFP (PPK and Alpina flashes), but I'm wary about programming the NFRM as I read many cases where the module got bricked (seems more common than other modules). Is this a known problem with older NFRM software that it won't accept the coding? |

It's known issue to me. I met with that issue few times. Some of software has bugs, just make sure your battery is strong enough or use jumperst during programming and all will go smoothly.
You don't need to recode from for now. |

can anybody confirm, that if I am able code other modules, but coding NFRM (e92 2010) doesnt stay..., the NFRM has to be programmed to newer version, and after that, the coding will stick?

hopefully I will not brick the ECU. I have strong power supply.
I have import all data to WinKFP , sgdat, ecu, assembly them.. so I guess I am ready. I am using sp daten 67. I didnt find any NFRM ECU folder. So I've choosed FRM3.. and WinKFP set : PABD: 080101FRM3R.IPO P-SGBD: 10FLASH.PRG lets hope. //edit: I got warning that only 1 update user info remain. so i uncheck the checkboxes... and the Flashing NFRM went well !!!! Coding now stays and works !! Perfect . thanks Last edited by Najt; 03-30-2020 at 04:30 AM.. |

Frm2 doesn’t have issue with coding sticking like certain frm3 modules do. You must be using wrong profile on ncs expert
