Me too, but my last one was a 2006 Legacy GT and did not have traction control. Even with Blizzak LM25s the Legacy was honestly less sure footed in the snow than my 2008 335i RWD with Blizzak WS70s.

Had a coworker with a 2015 Outback, and he traded it in for an Explorer. He hated it, if only I let him drive my 328i then he would've experienced true German engineering. If the 335i was an option I would request it to anybody

I guess if enough people tell you something is reliable that means it is? Not my experience with Subarus. Apparently something that eats head gaskets, has auto transmission issues, oil consumption issues, and rusts to pieces is reliable. All kidding aside, they aren't terrible, but I was less than impressed with my GF's Subaru. If I wanted an appliance I'd get a Camry or Accord, at least those have slightly better build quality. Fixing something you hate to drive is very annoying.

Some years ago, I was at conference in Boston and my hotel room was on a high floor, with a long elevator ride. I eavesdropped on two other elevator passengers who were discussing their Subarus, and how great they were, and by the way, both Subarus had experienced head crashes.
But they were great cars! Fast forward quite a few years and some friends just purchased a couple of new Subarus. At least one of the cars has made its way back to the dealer on a flatbed so far. But they are great cars! I dunno how Subaru gets away with it, but they do. I've noticed that the current crop of annoying Subaru ads doesn't have anything much to do with their cars, it's about lifestyles and virtue signaling. My standard answer to anyone who asks me what car to buy is: "buy a Toyota."
