Ok so the details which everyone is asking for
total mileage: 78000 kms
mileage since new brakepads installed: 1000 km
brake pad brand: the garage claim that they use all bmw parts.
how hard i brake: from 65 to zero in 50 meters. normally when signal turns red.

there is only smell, no smoke. and then smell dissapears within seconds. and it happens once a week when i have to brake hard.
