Ok that should be fine, looks like you have some sort of a boost leak.

Check everything over, including FMIC connections, charge pipe, Vacumn cannisters, you want eliminate each one,

Have you replaced all vacuum lines?

The shop that did the downpipes replaced the wastegate vacuum lines. Those are the only ones replaced since I bought the car in December 2020. They did a smoke test to find it.

MHD recommended going from V9 to V8 to see if the boost leak goes away.

I went to v.8 stage 2+. While idling in the garage the car shakes a little bit, almost like a bump. It's done this before after tuning and I think it eventually works itself out. It's raining now so I'll check it out later on the highway.

Your WGDC would be worrying to me. I'd replace all vacuum lines regardless. It's cheap, easy and solid insurance. I've had my intercooler off more then once since the initial install and I've THOUGHT I had it connected properly when it wasn't. 1 of those 2 would be my bet for your boost leak. I'll have to take a run and log it and compare it to yours. I don't recall my WGDC ever being up there....

I see three wastegate numbers when looking at my log. Which one are you looking at, is it too high or too low, and about where should it be?

The WGDC bank 1 is the one you should look at. (no need to log wgdc bank 2 since it's normally the same, i mean, on most tune, bank 1&2 are the same number, so just log bank 1).

And they said it's high cause it's in the 80 at your high rpm.

The number should be close to 100 for a short amount of time for your initial spool, during spooling like 2500-3000 rpm, until you reach boost target, and then it should stay in a 40-60 range for the rest of the pull. Yours getting 80 later, in high rpm and that is a bit high.

That said, i know that V9 of MHD made my WGDC higher compared to V7. Sometimes up to 68 or something.

Flash V7 and make another log to see if your WGDC goes that high too, if it's 80, it might indicate a boost leak, cause in high rpm, i guess there is a limit, and 80 is likely the limit.

Look at WGDC 1, I'm on a custom tune and even when it hits 19psi it doesn't go above 60% much,

Stage 2+ should be similar WGDC, definitely shouldn't be 80%+

So just switching maps is all you did? And your wgdc dropped that much? Or did you find a boost leak ?

MHD states the V8 2+ logs look good, except for the high IAT. They suggested replacing the intercooler or WMI. WMI is new to me.

Any chance the intercooler is damaged and/or not working correctly? I have no idea how to even test that. It's an ARM 5" Intercooler FMIC.

V8 map does seem to work fine on your car. It doesn't on many others though.

WMI is Water Methanol Injection.

Yes possible the intercooler is damaged or not installed properly. You'll have to check the connections, pull it out completely and visually inspect it properly.

Just to see if it makes any difference to IAT's, you can flash v7.1 and relog and check.

I shared the logs with ARM as well, the Intercooler manufacturer. They state with my set up I need to go to a 7" cooler, and, of course, they can offer me a great deal on one.

Does everyone agree I need a 7" cooler with my current set up? See my signature for my current set up.

7 inch FMIC would have lower IAT's than 5 inch, but I'd get the current 5 inch one properly checked over including the connection points before dropping the cash for 7 inch one.

I just did a mix of city/highway driving. I left the car in Drive. Ambient temp is 91. I did not mash the pedal, normal cruising. The IAT got as high as 128 and stayed between 118 and 122. That feels high to me for an aftermarket larger intercooler.

Thoughts?

Regarding the install/check of the current 5" intercooler, I had the performance shop check that during the catless downpipe install, and they did a smoke test. With the exception of the wastegate vacuum lines, which they replaced, everything looked good.

Looks like stage 2+ is too much for the 5 inch ARM FMIC.

I was thinking the same until I went for a normal cruise. The IAT numbers seem higher than OEM in my opinion for just a normal cruise.

I guess I can go back to stage 1+ and see if the temps come down.

Just did another pull:

https://datazap.me/u/gregrobin/greg-...0&data=3-17-25

IAT does drop down to low 120s once in 4th after about 20 - 30 seconds.
