looking to purchase a set of these now while the car is stored for the winter. my problem is that i'm torn between going with the 17 or the 18" rim

what i want is the concave look front and rear. I have e90 LCI with m sport package which has factory sport suspension..... i think the most i would do would be to run lowering perches in the front.

i have seen 18" concave front and rear with streched tires and i kinda want to stay away from that as i would like as much meat in the back as possible since im well over 400whp on e30 mix

I dont mind running 17" since they are lighter, cheaper and concave both front and rear in 17x9 et30 but i dont want any clearance issues, rubbing or big fender gap.

any opinions on what setup i should go with?? Please post PICS of e90 LCI with arc-8 if you have any

car is Space Gray and i was leaning more towards the hyper black arc8's like you see in this link

Go with a 17x9 et 30 front with a 17x9 et 42. The et30 all around will be too tight for a fat tire.

17x9et 30 will work with a 245/45/17 all around. You can probably fit a 255/45/17 with some camber up front.

Not mine, but I saved these pics when I was comparing different wheels for my car. They are Apex ARC-8 17x9 ET30 Satin Black. Tires are 245/40/17 PSS.

Look at the amount of wheel weights on right rear in the first pic... is that typical of APEX wheels? I thought they were higher quality wheels? Normally I would say bad tire, but PSS are supposed to be top tier as well. that much weight just seems crazy to me.

Holy $h!t haha

It could be a number of things (bad wheel, bad tire, etc) but first I'd want to see how it was installed/balanced...I highly doubt that wheel/tire assembly was road force matched. Not surprised given how so few installers care, or even understand, how to do it correctly.

X2 it could be a lot of reasons. APEX put out high quality wheels though as do michelin with there tires. It could be a rare bad product or they were not road force balanced

Hi there,

Oftentimes when people run 17" wheels on the non-M E9X chassis, they opt for the 17x9" ET30 square setup as it is more ideal for track use. We rarely see customers running a staggered 17x9" ET30 front and 17x9.5" ET35 rear, but it has been done before.

As far as fitment goes, the 17x9" ET30 and 17x9.5" ET35 both sit in the same place in correlation to the outer fenders (see willtheyfit.com image below). With that being said, any pictures of an E9X on a 17x9" ET30 square setup will give you a good idea as to how the 17x9.5 will fit in the rear. The only difference will come down to what tire size/compound you want to run. For an LCI E90 a 275/40-17 tire will typically require a rear fender roll to completely alleviate any rubbing that might occur.

Talking about the wheel weights. That is quite a lot to get the wheels and tires to balance out.

I just had 275/40/17 R888Rs with 17x10 ARC8s installed and it balanced with no wheel weights.

That pic was the front wheel which isn't terrible - I think the picture he was referring to is this, but I think it's a shadow effect and not excessive wheel weights.

for winter, I always take a smaller diameter, and larger tires, even if it doesn’t look very good. For that comfortable.
