ISTA reading VIN Incorrectly

I just finished getting ISTA up and running (thanks Shawn!!), but when I hook it up to my all-wheel drive E90 (2007 328xi) with an N52 it identifies the wrong VIN, and tells me I have a rear-wheel drive E65 with an N62 engine.
Has anyone come across this issue, and have any suggestions to remedy it?

I hooked everything up to my 2011 335i and it reported all the correct information.

Is it possible that someone messed with the ECU of the 328 or something weird like that? I know the previous owner did some coding using a Carly, and it wouldn't surprise me if he screwed a bunch of stuff up.
