Those of you who have done muffler delete..

How do you like it?

I am worried its going to be too loud, or too droney.

Please let me know how you like your setup.

I have an e90 325i

I have a e90 328i. I did the muffler delete and i love the way it sounds. On the highway it does have some drone..but in the city it's not really noticable.

I love putting it in manual mode though, sounds sick..It gurgles and crackles when you let off the gas

edit: It's not too loud either..sounds just right!

By drone, do you mean with windows up you hear a loud bass-ey noise? Ive never really heard drone in person. Is it unbearable to the point where you dont like driving freeway?

SAME CAR! I had it for a week and I couldn't take the drone anymore, I also felt a loss of torque, just ended up buying a new muffler, If I could go back in time, I would have just saved the money for a proper exhaust. Some people like it but I felt I was driving a riced up honda civic, I felt it lost its BMW swagg IYKWIM. I say don't do it and save the money for a proper exhaust

some people like it some people don't. Best to find someone in the area which shouldn't be hard at all and hear it in person. Have I gotten compliments from it? Yes. Are there people on the forum that don't like it? Yes. Some people can handle drone like nothing and for some it's too much. It's all up to you in the end.

honestly from what ive seen, and no disrepect to anyone, just stating my opinion is all..

the younger people seem to like it and the drone doesnt bother them (aka me), and the older folks seem to want a more refined, quieter sound.

I'm 19 and though it sounded really nice, I hated the drone, couldn't stand it.

Yep with windows up you can hear the bAssy noise. That's when your cruising though. I find it is more defined when I'm in auto mode rAther thAn manual.

I had mine muffler removed after reading a lot on here and watching some youtube videos. Personally I like the sound and love driving around with the windows up or down. Either way it sounds great to me.

I personally don't get some of the ricey comments as, to me, it really doesn't have the ricer with big can (muffler) hanging off the rear bumper sound. To me it has a deeper/throatier sound that I find very enjoyable.

The previous poster had a great idea of finding one close by to ride in or drive to see if you like it. If you decide to do it you might consider keeping your stock muffler for when you go to sell the car as the new owner might want it.

Good luck!

I did it on my e92 and for the first week or so there will be unbearable drone at high-way speeds. But it goes away after it settles. I thought I just got used to it but turns out it wasn't me that adjusted.

I just did mine 2 days ago it sounds alright... kinda quiet compared to my e60 (m54b30 engine) which sounded more aggressive .. One thing I disliked was that the guy who did it instead of just cutting the pipe right behind the muffler he cut it from the end of the resonator.. So I got this long pipe angled funny to were u can see it from behind.. Kinda reminds me of a Acura =/ (the pipe angles down that it looks like it's going to scrape the road).. I might go back this weekend and have em do it more discreet and tucked in...

lol that's weird usually they just cut right behind the muffler. Well I replaced my stock res with a vibrant res and they basically had piping from back there but it was nice and clean all the way to the end.

They aren't the greatest but I didn't feel like getting a jack to take pics lol. You can't see the piping if someone is behind me or really anywhere. I have a muffler delete with just the vibrant res. Another member did it awhile ago and I thought it sounded slightly cleaner than the stock res. But yeah the piping is mostly hidden.
