1 O2 sensor for each bank.
Hard to see the front bank in that photo. They are reading each bank.

The ford 8.8 diff is known to blow diff oil.
Im not sure why.
I need a catch can for it.

Im going to get a new driveshaft to suit new trans so hopefully its going to hold up.

Installed a set of Nolathane bushes into the rear subframe yesterday as the OEM bushes were getting a bit tired and needed replacing. I went to Bunnings and Boltmaster where I bought some bit and pieces to pull the out bushes out. At Boltmaster, I bought a 1m length of 12mm high tensile threaded bar, a couple of standard sized nuts and a couple of long nuts for $8 while at Bunnings, I bought a Post Anchor Bolt Down - Heavy Duty Post 90mm M12 and a couple of thick 65mm square washers with a 18mm hole for $15. I cut 300mm off the threaded bar to use in the puller. The Post Anchor has holes in the sides which I used with another nut and bolt to stop the sides from spreading. It worked a treat. I also drilled a 12mm hole in the middle of the base to feed the 12mm threaded bar through.

As usual, when working on cars, sometimes something jumps up and causes you some pain. On this job, a normally 2 minute task of undoing the brake pipe from the brake hose on the subframe, ended up a debacle. I was using pipe spanners but on one of the 2 fittings, the fitting was not going to budge and stripped the corners off the fitting. I had to use multigrips and was lucky to get it to finally loosen. By this time, the fitting was wrecked. All this took 1.5hrs.

The removal of the OEM bushes and installation of the Nolathane bushes was simple. However, the replacement of this brake pipe is another drama. I rang ASV Euro and they don't keep or sell those brake pipes. I then tried Motorline BMW who told me there was none in Australia and it would have to come from Germany, if they have one, and it would take 3 weeks and cost $149. This is a pipe about 150mm long. At present, I have purchased one from FCP Euro for $101 including postage that will arrive in 1.5wks. These cars are becoming vintage class I guess. I never thought a replacement for this would be so difficult.

Yes I was surprised BMW didn't carry any in Australia. However, thanks to Duck who had a spare brake pipe, I got the car back on the road yesterday. The Nolathane bushes feel a bit firmer and there is no NVH which is good. Years ago, just after I purchased my car, I replaced the OEM bushes with M3 bushes. They really annoyed me because of the NVH which I didn't expect but these Nolathane items are excellent.

Had the car for about 6 weeks now 320D with M Sport goodies. Decided to do an oil change. Bought the filter from BMW Sylvania and the Castrol 5W30 full synthetic from Supercheap on special over the Bathurst weekend for $50 5 ltr.

Got some Liqui Moli engine detox and ran that through it. Dropped the oil let it drain for about 30mins and then filter and oil plus a Liqui Moli engine 300ml additive. cars only done 62,000km but the previous oil change was left in for 30,000km by previous owner. I will now do them every 10,000 as I mainly drive off peak and its 50km each way to work.
