Based on the attached weather forecasts as of this morning, we are asking those that have signed up for Eurofest 2008 to indicate their intentions as to whether they are still planning to go. This will help decide if we call off the CARAVAN or not. This will be a public poll, so that we will be able to see that the people voting are actually those that have signed up.

I am waking up at 6:00 am....if its raining outside, I am going back to sleep and obviously won't be attending...I will also give Bogoshipyo a call to let him know what my status is for the guys leaving from Brooklyn....I hope this front blows over quicker than anticipated...I hate weather forecastors with a passion.

I'm willing to wait until later today to make up my mind, but based on the current forecast, I'm inclined not to go. Cloudy and windy with cool temps, doesn't sound like too much fun. I feel for Ryan with all the planning that he's put into this event and I'm sure he will be as disappointed as we are, if most of us decide not to go.

I will update the weather forecasts should they change during the day.

I just updated the weather forecasts and although weather.com is calling for 0% chance of precipitation, it will still feel pretty crappy with temps in the mid 40's to mid 50's with a stiff breeze.

You guys that still plan to go, have a good time and take some pics. As for me, I'm calling it off. Sorry to disappoint everyone.

The high for tomorrow is 62 from weather.com and 64 from accuweather.com.

Steve, that's a poor excuse. Just say that you gave into your wife and decided not to go. Guess, she took back your cajones, huh?

If you guys want to back out due to a few clouds, then it seems like you never really wanted to go in the first place

You may be correct with what the stated highs for the day are, but you don't mention that those will not be reached until sometime in the afternoon. If you look at the realfeel temps, that is what it will actually feel like. As for giving into my wife, you will be up at 5AM posting on the forum. I, OTOH, have different plans....

BTW, if anyone needs some printed release forms, I have about 20 of them....

As for local weathermen, they have a vested interest in giving optimistic forecasts, mainly they want to keep their jobs. The sun may eventually come out and it affords them the right to say it will be sunny.

Please don't get down on those that may choose not to travel long distances for uncertain and uncomfortable conditions. If we didn't want to go in the first place, we wouldn't have put forth the effort to organize the Caravans. We also take pride in our rides and want to present them in their best light. We don't have the luxury of getting up early to wash and shine and make them presentable because of the long distance we have to travel. We hope you understand.

Okay, so far everbody on the list below are still going. As you guys can see, none of the Jersey guys backed out. lol!

Please remember the following:

1) Print out the release form on the OP and fill it out.
2) Make sure you have directions to Manhattanville College and Eurofest.
3) Bring your 2-way radio. We will be using channel 12 and code 8.
4) Make sure you fill up your gas tank before meeting up at the meet location. We will not stop for gas.
