Question Wheel Locks?

What kind of wheel locks do you guys recommend? I've heard the "Gorilla Guard Lock" is good?

I think I'm going to get 2 sets for added security.

I didn't get the Elite version. I bought the OEM+ version but either one will work.

I'm curious about those Apex Elite ones -- anyone ever have issues with the slots feeling like they were going to round?

I used these:
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...901ecs28bm~ec/

I have mixed emotions, as it was good for the most part, but the one time it started rounding when I used an impact to loosened scared me. Haven't had an issue since, but makes me think about options. I know the OEM BMW ones had a bunch of issues with the key getting mangled and useless. I also feel like I'd want two keys instead of just one as I'm paranoid. All said, I did like these because the slots went all the way to the bottom (so the grip is decent) and it didn't have a different diameter than the stock lugs.

I think wheel locks keep the average thief at bay, but if someone really wants your rims, they will take them.

Thieves have access to many wheel lock keys.

Yeah I'm also going to get an alarm system to help draw attention if someone is messing with my wheels or anything else for that matter.

I also have a front and rear dash cam with parking mode. So with all this shit on my car now I can say I did the best I can. Besides that, will just be more careful where I leave my car.

be cautious who you let touch your wheels if you use them.

basically it's tiny little splines in that head that grab when you push it all together, and if they strip you'll never get the lock off without the fancy wheel lock drill kit.

no impacts
no overtorquing

I have found that if people want your shit they will take your shit, no matter the precautions you have taken.

my advice is to make sure your insurance policy has your wheels covered for actual replacement value and to pay the premium on time.

then don't worry about it.

It’s a good precautionary measure. However, if they want it, they will get it.
